Today, Parasuram Prabhu and his team arranged for us to ride a rickshaw around central London with a âChanging Bodiesâ diorama attached. It would be an understatement to say it caused quite a buzz in the local area, with many people approaching us to find out more.
I stopped Sultana who was instantly drawn to the Bhagavad Gita. She explained that she meditates everyday and chants. Intrigued, I asked her what she chants. Her response was âHare Krishna!â So naturally my response was to say âyou must visit the Soho Street Hare Krishna Templeâ. She said she didnât know a Hare Krishna Temple existed.
I probed further and asked her how she knew the Hare Krishna mantra. She said she was travelling the east coast in Australia last year and heard a group of people singing the mantra. She was immediately attracted to it and wanted to join them. However, her friend who was with her at the time deterred her.
Ever since she hasnât been able to get the mantra out of her head and has been chanting it daily. She feels the mantra has radicallly changed her, making her feel more energised and centred.
She was genuinely and sincerely estatic when I told her that we are from the Hare Krishna movement. She bought all the selection of books I had, giving a generous donation. She affirmed since she has connected with the mantra so many miraculous things have taken place in her life…such as our encounter today.
She truly feels the chanting has led her to receive Srila Prabhupadaâs books which will help her accomplish great things in her life, especially in relation to spirituality.
I was left with a grateful heart for our meeting. This interaction reinforced the paramountcy of standing on the streets and introducing Srila Prabhupadaâs books with the world
