Sivananda Sena’s and Svarupa Damodara Gosvami’s Disappearance Day.
HH Giriraj Swami: On the auspicious day of Jagannatha Ratha-yatra in Puri, two of Lord Chaitanya’s most confidential associates, Srila Svarupa Damodara Gosvami and Srila Sivananda Sena, left this world to return to the supreme abode.

Madhusudan Memories of Brahmananda prabhu. At 18 years old, around the time I met Brahmananda, the first president of an ISKCON temple in early 1967, I was still suffering from the effects of delusion resulting from so-called “consciousness-expanding drugs.” Wandering the streets late one night I knocked on the door of the temple when everyone was sleeping. Brahmananda, in his sober wisdom and seeing my state, would not let me in. A month or so later, after recovering a bit, I stated going regularly to the temple.

Today I heard Srila Prabhupada’s talk on Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.7.34–35 (September 28, 1976, Vrindavan), and in the wake of George Floyd’s recent death, caused by the police, and the subsequent riots, the following excerpt seemed especially relevant and poignant:

The Story of Pandava Nirjala Ekadasi. Once Bhimasena, the younger brother of Maharaja Yudhisthira, asked the great sage Shrila Vyasadeva, the grandfather of the Pandavas, if it is possible to return to the spiritual world without having observed all the rules and regulations of the Ekadasi fasts.

HG Prajapati Prabhu, a dear to all disciple of Srila Prabhupada passed away unexpectedly at home in Fairfield, Iowa, over the weekend. He was integral in the early Vaikuntha Players and loved doing plays about Krsna’s pastimes. In the photo, he is the one holding the bead bag next to His Divine Grace.
