Every Town and Village Harinama. New Midweek Harinama in Alachua.
In 2017, in order to increase service to Srila Prabhupada and his beloved Lord Sri Krishna Chaitanya, a midweek harinama party was formed at New Raman Reti. Pundarika das spearheaded the start and a core group consisting of Kaliyapani das, Jitari das, Krishna Kesava das, Nitai Priya devi dasi, Charandi devi dasi and Vaisnavi devi dasi began doing a Thursday harinama in downtown Gainesville where the atmosphere with restaurants and clubs was very relaxed. People would dance with us, chant with us and take books. This party went on for three months.
In May 2018, the party regrouped with the idea of exploring other towns in our area. Instead of calling it the Midweek Harinama it is now Every Town and Village Harinama. Our core group has been Pundarika das, Satya Madhava das, Gurvagmi das, Kaliyapani das, Jitari das, Krishna Keshava das, Nitai Priya devi dasi. Others who have participated are Chandra Vidya, Ekadasi devi dasi, Tulasi devi dasi, Mena devi dasi. Places in 2018 so far where we have performed harinama yajna:
May – High Springs, Downtown Gainesville
June- Lake Butler, Starke, Shands Hospital row on Archer Road, Newberry
July – Keystone Heights parade, then Interlachen town festival, then Lake Butler festival, then Alachua Fireworks (all on July 4th); Lake City, Starke, High Springs
