Chandan Bhatia: If Nimai could not catch a bird He saw flying in the sky He would weep bitterly and roll in the dust. Sometimes, He cried for the moon and the stars in the sky while thrashing His arms and legs violently, if He could not have them.

Saint Cynic and modern cynics

by Administrator
By Kasya das

Gradually he loses good faith, and finally stops to believe anyone and anything. Everywhere he sees only bad. No other choice is left for him, but to become a cynic, because he is not educated in the culture of Krishna consciousness. He knows not Bhagavad-gita. He does not know how to face such a load of badness. He at all does not know what to think about it. Therefore he joins the cynical attitude of a demon, "Everything is just bad and hopeless. Better I join the club of cynics and demons." Then he becomes full fledged demon too. But saintly person, devotee of Krishna sees same things, but put...

by Administrator
By Srimati Dasi

* Momma, you look so stressed and tired today, what’s the problem? * I guess I’ve reached my limits with this lockdown, Lalitä. It seems like it’s never going to end…..I guess the real problem is that I am very worried about your Papa. The new business he started last October is an import/export venture and he’s invested all our life savings in it. The coronavirus pandemic is tearing all his plans to shreds. Life is very, very tough for him right now, and so I worry about him.….

An appreciation for Srila Prabhupada and his Bhagavad-gita As It Is

by Administrator
By Madhusudana Visnu Das

A Swaminarayana Monk Appreciates Srila Prabhupada and his Bhagavad-gita As It Is. Few months ago, we received a call from a monk belonging to Swaminarayana sect in Gujarat. He expressed the desire to learn Bhagavad Gita As It Is. It was quite a surprise for us. On inquiring from him the purpose behind his request, he informed us that their chief-guru had written in their sacred literature called siksha-patri, the manual of good instructions, that every sincere seeker should study Bhagavad-gita very nicely. Since, he had heard from many people that ISKCON’s Bhagavad-gita is the bes...

Sri Ahobilam Yatra – Where Lord Nrsimhadeva Appeared

by Administrator
Hare KrishnaBy Chandan Yatra Das

Ahobilam (Ahobalam) is the place where Supreme Personality of Godhead incarnated Himself as Lord Nrsimhadeva to kill the demon Hiranyakasipu and save His dear-most devotee Prahlada. Here at Ahobilam, Lord Nrsimhadeva emerged from the pillar of Hiranyakasipu’s palace, killed him after a fierce fight, simultaneously honouring the boons that Hiranyakasipu received from Lord Brahma. The pillar from where Lord Nrsimhadeva appeared, the ruins of the palace of Hiranyakasipu, the exact spot where Lord Nrsimhadeva killed Hiranyakasipu, the pond where Lord Nrsimhadeva washed His...

Sri Nrsimha Kavaca

by Administrator
By Kalakantha Das

This is a poeticized version of the standard translation for these prayers. A devotee who reads this becomes freed from all sins. May the all-auspicious Lord, who Himself bestows all-auspiciousness, protect from the northeast, the direction of the sun-god, and may He who is death personified protect me from fear of death and rotation in this material world.

Offer prayers to the Lord and hear the Lord’s glories.

by Administrator

Therefore, although I was born in a demoniac family, I may without a doubt offer prayers to the Lord with full endeavor, as far as my intelligence allows. Anyone who has been forced by ignorance to enter the material world may be purified of material life if he offers prayers to the Lord and hears the Lord’s glories.

Little Acts of Kindness

by Administrator

It has been five weeks since Boris Johnson announced the lockdown. Everyone other than National Health Service (NHS) staff and essential workers has been at home. Being at home might mean you are alone, perhaps with just a flat mate or a bustling great family. As a therapist I have clients who are thriving without the usual rigmarole of life and others working from home with little children interrupting our sessions on zoom to demand attention.
