WSN August 2024 – World Sankirtan Newsletter

by Administrator
By Vijaya Dasa

The situation in Ukraine is inconceivable-ten temples reported book scores! That's more now than before the war. Many devotees are out of work, freeing them to focus on their true mission, our family business of distributing Prabhupada's books. It's Krsna's mercy. They were #10 in the world last month. Canada is another remarkable story. With twenty temples reporting, they saw a 37% increase in distribution. Enthusiasm is clearly growing; Canada ranked 4th worldwide.

Srila Haridasa Thakura Samadhi

by Administrator
Hare KrishnaBy Chandan Yatra Das

Thakura Haridasa was present during most of the Lord Caitanya's pastimes in Nadia, and when the Lord went to Jagannatha Puri, Haridasa also went and took up residence there. Every day, after attending Lord Jagannatha's mangala arati, Lord Caitanya would come to see Haridasa Thakura and bring him some of Lord Jagannatha's prasadam. When Sri Sanatana Goswami and Sri Rupa Goswami would come from Vrindavana to Puri they used to stay with Haridasa Thakura. Haridasa, in order to maintain the etiquette, would not go near Lord Jagannatha's temple but would offer his obeisances ...

Sri Radhastami

by Administrator
By Giriraj Swami

The good news is that in this age of Kali, Sri Krsna came in the mood of Srimati Radharani. And as we read in the purport, Srimati Radharani is the tenderhearted feminine counterpart of Krsna. In The Nectar of Devotion also, Srila Prabhupada says that Srimati Radharani represents the compassionate nature of Krsna. Because Krsna is the father, He might be a little strict (which is sometimes necessary and beneficial), but the mother may be more compassionate, more understanding, more encouraging. Therefore devotees a...
