By Ambika DasiAccording to religious principles, a female guru must be chaste assistant/helpmate to her husband. She is thereby called dharma-patni. If her husband is a diksa-guru brahmana, she becomes a brahmani/guru-patni/dharma-patni. Therefore, the term FDG for Female Diksa Guru is more aptly named Female Dharma-patni Guru for there is no authorized system in a bonafide Gaudiya Vaisnava sampradaya for a Female to supercede her husband as Acarya.

By Chandan Yatra DasI perpetually worship Sri Nityananda, the root of the tree of Krishna-Bhakti, who wandering around in Bengal approached the door of every home. With upraised arms he exclaimed: "O Brothers! Please constantly chant the holy names of Hari. If you do so, I will take the responsibility to deliver you from the ocean of material existence."

By Udayananda DasaI recently received an email from one of our Godbrother’s. It was a copy of some excerpts from a talk you gave on November 14, 2013 regarding "The Glorious Position of Srila Prabhupada". The paper was seven printed pages long and gave amazing vijnana realizations of the appearance and pastimes of Srila Prabhupada supported by appropriate shastras. This was very clear, relevant and accurate forecasting of HDG by the shastras themselves.

By Inmate Bhakta Joseph P.The time I spend chanting the Maha-mantra in the quiet early mornings is one of my most favorite times of the day. It is that special time spent in direct association with our dear Lord Sri Krsna. But there are days when I don’t feel anything special, that even in this most auspicious transcendental activity, I feel alone, and oh, so far from my dear Lord. When this happens, it is easy to wonder if I am actually receiving His mercy; if there is purpose to my chanting or if I am just wasting my time.

By Krishna-kirti dasFor many devotees, and especially for non-devotees, a doubt may arise as to the authority of the Vedic scriptures over the body of scientific evidence produced by the social sciences. Over the years, the hard sciences have produced many discoveries—powered flight, heart transplants, telephones, cars, computers, and so forth. In previous eras these would have been considered miraculous. For the social sciences, the expectation is held that if science is applied to the study of humanity similar miracles will be produced.

By Priyavrata dasI could hardly imagine Food for Life being so successful when I first became a volunteer way in 1984. Back then I worked as an assistant cook and server at a free food cafe called, Gopals in Parramatta, Australia. That was one of the first free food cafes set up by the Hare Krishna movement in Australia and it was a forerunner to other Food for Life projects throughout Australia.

By Chaitanya Charan dasMany times we speak insensitively or act indiscreetly on the spur of the moment and later regret: “If only I had thought a bit before doing like that…” How can we avoid such rash impulsive behavior?

By KriyateAs the rising moon dispels darkness, spreading its soothing rays in all directions, so too did the Golden Avatar Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu appear in this world to bestow infinite light, hope, and love. Day by day, the worldwide bhakti revolution He ignited accelerates, as the background noise of doubt and fear is drowned by the vibration of sacred mantra. Entrance Into Eternity is a multi-part film series tracing this sankirtan movement back to its divine source, the epicenter of devotional ecstasy, the kirtan capital of the universe, Sridham Mayapur.

By Iksvaku dasaThis year, ISKCON’s Congregational Development Ministry is commemorating the 100th anniversary of Srila Bhaktivinda Thakura's disappearance. The legacy left from his missionary work is still prevalent in our society due to his systematic preaching methods revolutionizing the preaching field in his days and setting a universal perspective in spreading Krishna Consciousness.

By Purushottam KumarSuppose that we invest our hard earned money in a company’s share which promises to give a very high return at the end of the year. But we find that throughout the year the market value of the share keeps depreciating and at the end of the year we have lost all our money. Next year the same company again launches a new scheme and asks us to purchase its share. How many of us would ever think of buying the share from the same company again? Probably no one because the company would have lost its goodwill, credibility and our trust.

By Jai Sita Rani Devi DasiWhile most of us were relaxing at home on New Year's Day, we heard a very shocking news that our Ratha Yatra stalwart had a heart attack. Although we live in a muslim country, we have the good fortune to have Ratha Yatras without a problem. And not only that we have almost 40 Ratha Yatras in a year and definitely the most in the Iskcon world.

By Chaitanya Charan dasUnmanaged sexual energy has always been a threat to humanity throughout the ages. Many wars have had at their root unmanaged sexual energy in political leaders, often in the form of a depraved craze to conquer the opposite sex or the deprived rage at failure in such a conquest.

By Mangesh Kumar BeheraIf your answer is yes, then you are very lucky than those who are living their life in luxury. Now your mind must be puzzled with the above statement. But this the truth. People who are materially engrossed often forget Krsna and consider their material life as the permanent life. But people who are depressed, who face problems in life, who are frustrated with the situations going in their life often pray to Krsna, Oh Krsna! Please help me

By Dusyanta DasaThe importance of the Shiksa Guru is paramount to us as devotees. We can identify subjectively/objectively who is the Shiksa Guru by understanding important instructions from Srila Prabhupada and then we wont make the mistakes that our Iskcon history has illustrated. Some of Srila Prabhupada’s quotes emphasise the very first Spiritual Master we meet is the Shiksa Guru and how this happens

By Dusyanta DasaOften the initiator is the main instructor but this is not always so. Another guru who is an instructing spiritual master may become more important to the disciple for a number of reasons. An initiator may very well direct the disciple to instruction from a more advanced devotee than himself, and so the disciple may become more attached to the instructor than the initiator
