The term “doubting Thomas” well illustrates the difference...But until science comes up with a testable theory of the laws of the universe, its claim to be free of faith is manifestly bogus.

Death, and dying are events I do think about a lot more now that I am nearing 60. That is not morbid, but actually recommended, so we don't waste our life in activities that don't help us enter more deeply into our Krishna consciousness.

OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

by Administrator
Hare KrishnaBy Radha devi dasi

While visiting a “Correctional Institution” (Prison) for a preaching program in Johannesburg, I noticed that attached “ABUSE OF POWER” poster on the wall. It is directed at domestic violence, but the principles apply to anyone in a position of authority. We have witnessed temple commanders, sankirtana leaders, husbands, fathers, teachers, TPs, sannyasis, and even gurus fall victim to pride and misuse their position of authority.

Death, a reminder of eternal life

by Administrator
Hare KrishnaBy Caitanya Caran das

This ultimate defeat in the form of death is just not acceptable for our minds, filled as they are with dreams and schemes for enjoyment. Consequently despite periodic reminders of death through disasters, accidents and attacks, we live primarily by the denial of death. Actually death is an indirect reminder of eternal life, just as pain is an indirect reminder of good health.

Lord Caitanya Preached pure bhakti / constitution of the soul

by Administrator
Hare KrishnaBy Sri Nanda - nandana das

To the impersonalist, achieving the brahma-bhuta stage, becoming one with the Absolute, is the last word. But for the personalist, or pure devotee, one has to go still further to become engaged in pure devotional service. This means that one who is engaged in pure devotional service to the Supreme Lord is already in a state of liberation, called brahma-bhuta, oneness with the Absolute
