By Padmavati Devi DasiOur relationship with Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is eternal. Nitya-siddha Krishna-prema. The pure souls are eternally in love with Krishna. Simply by chanting the Hare Krishna mantra one revives his original relationship with God and thus becomes so happy that he does not want anything material. (Srimad-Bhagavatam, 7.7.39 Purport)

By Bhakti Raghava SwamiA few years ago, while pursuing my postgraduate studies at USM in Penang, I happen to glance over the front page of the local newspaper to read the following headlines in large capital letters: WANTED: LEADERS. Srila Prabhupada: “Ordinarily, the spiritual master, husband, father, mother or superior relative accepts worship from an inferior relative, but here Rshabhadeva forbids this. First the father, spiritual master or husband must be able to release the dependent from repeated birth and death. If he can...

By Giriraj SwamiThis verse appears in Srimad-Bhagavatam (9.4.68) in connection with a misunderstanding between Durvasa Muni and Maharaja Ambarisa. As a result of this misunderstanding, Durvasa Muni tried to kill the king, when the Sudarsana cakra, the celebrated weapon of Godhead, appeared on the scene for the devoted king's protection. When the Sudarsana cakra attacked Durvasa Muni, he fled in fear of the weapon and sought shelter from all the great demigods in heaven. Not one of them was able to protect him, and therefore Durvasa Muni prayed to Lord Visnu for forgiveness. Lord Visnu advised him, however, t...

By Vijaya DasaThis has never happened before: Chowpatti is the No. 1 temple in India and the No. 2 temple worldwide (just behind Los Angeles, which is always up there in the charts). The Chowpatti temple did 32,952 book points in September, and the Los Angeles temple did a whooping 40,949 book points. Look out, Europe! New Mayapur (France) is moving up in the competition. It was No. 4 among the European temples, with 1,771 book points. Janananda Goswami has a new team of fired-up book distributors, and he also goes out with as many devotees as possible. What an example!

By Brajanath DasaMy wife and I were pondering how to reach out the community with Prabhupada books during the pandemic and we happened to see little birdfeeder-sized, house-shaped structures full of books on the front lawns of houses in our neighborhood. We thought that these would be nice altars for Prabhupada books, and peeked inside. They contained books related to fiction, science, romance, health, and travel as well as kids’ books. As we didn’t see any spiritual books, we thought to place Bhagavad-Gita and other small books of Prabhupada.

C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and indeed, the service of humanity at large.

By Brahma DasI served on Radha-Damodar Traveling Sankirtan Party for the next three years as a bus leader. Tamal Krishna Goswami was a hard taskmaster, but he was able to motivate me like no one had done before, and in turn, I was able to motivate others. He saw something of my potential for service, and I had faith and appreciation for him. As bus leader I had to call him from the field once a week, and those calls either left me tearful because I had let him down or elated because he was pleased. He had a powerful effect on my life that has been with me ever since. By 1979, the Radha-D...

By New Gokula TeamVisitors are always asking what they can bring to feed the cows. A cow's stomach is surprisingly sensitive for such a large animal and it is because of this that we recommend only bringing apples, bananas and carrots to feed them. We also have molasses balls made for the cows which you can buy from the shop for $5 for two. If you are visiting on a Saturday or Sunday we feed the cows after prasadam is served.

By Svaha Dasi and Rangavati DasiWe are pleased to announce the completion of the TOVP Nrsimhadeva Wing altar design by Their Graces Svaha and Rangavati prabhus. The TOVP is presenting the Gaudiya Vaisnava Siddhanta to the world specifically through the nomenclature inherent in the temple and the planetarium. The design, therefore, has to represent the correct siddhanta. By Srila Prabhupada’s grace and that of his disciples, we have learned that Mahaprabhu is the avatari and all other avataras emanate from Him. Therefore, all divine forms and dhamas exist eternally in Their original forms in Sridhama Mayapu...

By Devaprastha dasaWhat is fear? Where does it come from? How can we learn to live a life without it? Srila Prabhupada taught that the essential cause of fear and anxiety is a lack of understanding of the nature of reality − our attachments and perceived loss which occur in the mind are actually illusory. A person who learns this begins to be free from unnecessary mental anguish. So fearless was Srila Prabhupada that, at age 69, he begged a passage on a steamship to the United States of...
