Vrindavan, the home of Lord Krishna, had a late monsoon and an early Kartika. Torrential rains came down making it difficult to get on the road.
As soon as the rain eased up we headed off through Mathura on to Madhavan,
the first of the twelve principal forests of Vraj.
Krishna appears here is all the four yugas.
In Satya-yuga, He appeared before Dhruva Maharaja. In Treta-yuga He came as
Satrughna and killed the demon Lavanasura. He came as Lord Krishna in
Dwapara-yuga and as Lord Caitanya in Kali-yuga
Bullock carts are the real Rolls Royce of Vraj, the number 1 form of
transport for Lord Krishna and his devotees. Srila Prabhupada once said
that the bulls that pull the cart for Gaura Nitai will go directly back to
Godhead.
So we took off on the Harinam of a lifetime.
“Here I am now sitting in New York, the world’s greatest city, but my heart
is always hankering after that Vrindavan. I shall be very happy to return
to my Vrindavan, that sacred place.” [Srila Prabhupada]

Going on Vraj Mandala Padayatra with Parasurama Prabhu is the most transcendental fun you can have in the three worlds. If Krishna is willing, I hope to drag my arthritic bones round a couple more laps some day. My advice to any bhakta who doesn't mind a bit of austerity is this: don't just dream about it… do it whilst you are still young! You will remember it forever, guaranteed!
