Update Jan 18: The two hour angioplasty operation was successful. The major block was cleared and Doctors placed a stend and few other blocks were also cleared as well.
Maharaja is conscious and responding well to devotees. He will be monitored for next six hours and will rest at Mahkota Specialist Hospital Malacca. Tomorrow, HH will be transferred back to Mawar Specialist Seremban to continue medication for liver sclerosis.

HH Bhakti Vrajendranandana Swami Maharaja, a dear disciple of Srila Prabhupada, suffered a heart attack this afternoon at 4 PM in Mawar Specialist Hospital, Seremban, Malaysia.
HH has been hospitalised for past 18 days since returning from India where he contracted an illness. The Mawar Hospital specialist Doctors found that Maharaja was suffering from liver sclerosis and respectively treated Maharaj with medications. However, three days ago Maharaja had a mild heart failure and water retention in lungs for which Maharaj was moved to the Intensive Care Unit.
Just yesterday doctors drained two litres of fluids with the aid of a catheter from Maharaja’s body. With this Maharaja’s condition improved a little. However this afternoon, Maharaja suffered a heavy heart attack when one of the many blocks in heart vein became completely blocked. Doctors immediately took control of the situation. Maharaja is now conscious and is reciprocating with devotees especially HH Janananda Maharaja who spent the evening reading for Maharaja’s pleasure. Maharaja is, however, still weak. Tomorrow, Maharaja will be transferred to another hospital in the Melaka state to undergo an angioplasty which is to help balloon the major block in his heart.
HH Bhakti Vrajendranandana Swami Maharaja joined the movement in England 40 years ago. In 1978 Maharaja went back to his home nation and in 1981 Maharaja;s was instrumental to registed ISKCONformally in Malaysia. Later HH Jayapataka Swami and HG Prabhavisnu Prabhu became Co-GBCs in Malaysia and together with HH Janananda Goswami, HH Bhakti Caru Swami, HH Bhakti Vikas Swami,
HH Bhanu Swami and many stalwart disciples of Srila Prabhupada, HH Bhakti Vrajendranandana Swami guided ISKCON Malaysia to open more than 30 centers and inspire 42 ratha yatra celebrations per year.
