Kripamoya Das: I was once at a house conducting a baby’s ‘first grains’ ceremony. I asked if I could use a nearby glass-topped coffee table. The owner obliged but gently requested me: “Please be very careful when you place things on it, all four of the Beatles signed a contract on it years ago, and I wouldn’t like it to get scratched.”
He was an accountant connected with the music industr,y and for many years after that historic moment, to the owner, that table had been not simply any ordinary table; it was invested with a unique energy, having been in connection with famous persons. In Sanskrit this is known as tadiyanam, an item connected with someone of stature.
