by Administrator / 15 Mar 2013 / Published in Message Board  /

Hari-sauri dasa: Service opportunity – Assistant Librarian at Bhaktivedanta Research Centre (BRC) Kolkata

BRC has an immediate opening for a full time Assistant Librarian

Applicant Must be

* fully computer competent

* Knowledgeable in English and Bengali (Sanskrit is a big plus) or be willing to learn at least Bengali writing and speaking.

* Have a love of books and an enthusiasm to preach

* Be willing to learn on the job as well as take necessary educational courses

Service includes cataloging; indexing; preservation of old books and manuscripts by scanning and other methods; interfacing with other institutions and libraries; travelling to various locations for increasing the database of works; translation and publishing etc.

This is a full-time service. Successful candidate will be provided a room and boarding at the BRC in Kolkata.

We stress that we are looking for an applicant who is a full-time practicing devotee who wishes to take this up as a service rather than a job. However a small stipend is also provided if required.

We regret that applicants must be male because we cannot accommodate females in our current facility, unless a female applicant has her own living arrangements and can easily commute from her home.

We envision this to be an ideal engagement for a young, motivated graduate from our ISKCON school system but we welcome applications from any interested party.

Applicants please contact BRC Director Hari-sauri dasa – 09830120437; harisauri@gmail.com; hari.sauri.acbsp@pamho.net
