By Syamasundara das (Bhaktivedanta Manor – UK)

The Conference Is open to those who have an interest in or are actually practiced in rural development, agriculture, handicrafts, horticulture, protected dairying, ox draft and other similar topics.

Methods of food production, preservation and resources on a Bavarian estate with European application.

The community at Simhacalam Jandelsbrunn will be hosting the 2014 farm conference in September at the idyllic setting surrounded by woodlands, pasture grounds, fruit orchards and rolling hills.
This venue is a perfect setting for those interested in rural sustainable development and wish to know more, share what they know or meet the people doing it. The conference will focus on small businesses models that are being continued today and have appeal to the future and will naturally have topics for those who are already established in this area.

We will also look at the opportunities to host students in degree, masters and Doctorate studies. This is an opportunity to meet people who specialise in varied rural crafts and who have made viable businesses from the products of the land and animals. Simhacalam farm has a long established mini herd and has developed milk production from miracle cows. The buildings are heated from a bio mass boiler. There is a large cellar for food preservation and storage Grain is grown, milled and eaten by the community and visitors.

Many of the residents are skilled at beecraft, handicrafts and food preservation. The barns are filled with a huge array of old and new equipment for any eventuality and crop production. The farm has its own food cellar for food storage and preservation. The farm has its own water based waste handling system. Surrounding the farm are rolling hills interspersed with arable lands and places of cultivation. It is a perfect place to visit, a perfect place to host a farm conference and we are sure the participants will derive inspiration and ideas from attending.

Those who are interested in participating in the conference are invited to contact me so we can keep you informed of any information. Stuart Coyle – Syamasundara Dasa ISKCON Minister for Cow Protection and Agriculture
