From its official start four years ago, BBT Africa has grown in its accomplishments and its expertise. You’ll read about that in this report.
I feel fortunate to be able to work with our dedicated Kṛṣṇa conscious team as they maintain and improve what they’ve established and pioneer new ground.
We have new languages, new titles, new printings, and inspiration from devotees across Africa who are spreading Kṛṣṇa consciousness by distributing Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books.
Holding our annual BBT conference this year in Ghana will bring us more closely in touch with the devotees in West Africa.
Reaching across the Atlantic Ocean, we plan a get-together with the accomplished devotees at the Latin American BBT to share experiences and skills. And back at home base we’ve joined the Publishers Association of South Africa to learn more from colleagues in the publishing profession.
Our thanks also to the devotees and friends whose generosity enables us to put African-language books into people’s hands at low prices and place free books in libraries and other institutions.
BBT Africa is contributing to the BBT’s mission not only in Africa but globally. This past June, our Govardhana Prabhu became an assistant director of BBT International. He has also taken the lead in a managing board to see to the stability and growth of the worldwide Back to Godhead magazine.
As BBT Africa continues to grow and develop, we look forward to working still more closely with ISKCON’s temples and book distributors in Africa to make plans, set goals, and together push forward Śrīla Prabhupāda’s mission. Hare Kṛṣṇa.
