The International Society for Krishna Consciousness in Indonesia is back with their annual parade, “Ratha-yatra Bali 2014” on the 24th of August 2014, 11am onwards in Denpasar.
With the theme “sva-dharmeṇa balīyasā”, which means “offering our activities to the Supreme Lord”, the event seeks to display the vibrant culture of love of Godhead. Making God the centre of our activities, from the centre of Denpasar, Bali’s provincial capital. With over 2,000 in attendance at last year’s event, we hope to attract more this year with dances, dramas, music, vegetarian food bazaar, exhibits, stands and a parade pulling three giant carts housing Krishna (also known as “Jagannatha”, the Lord of the Universe), His brother Baladeva and His sister Subhadra Devi, on the streets of Denpasar.
The parade route starts from the Eastern field of the Bajra Sandhi Monument, along Jl. Raya Puputan Niti Mandala, Jl. Kapten Tantular, Jl. Cok. Agung Tresna and finally at Jl. Juanda, back to the Monument’s grounds. The parade will be accompanied by dance and music — Hare Krishna style.
A day before Ratha-yatra, on the 23rd of August 2014, the devotees in Indonesia will be celebrating our first ever “Prabhupada Festival”. Dedicated to ISKCON’s founder-acharya, this celebration will manifest a mood of unity and devotion.
