Krisha’s Universal Form – Establishing a Benchmark for God
As long as people in general are not properly trained in the science of self-realization, unscrupulous individuals will take advantage of the spiritual sentiments expressed by the innocent. This shows up all around us as a parade of individuals who either pose as some type of “Enlightened” teacher, or in some cases even have the audacity to say, or lead their sycophant followers to believe, that they are the “Avatar” for the yuga, or an incarnation of God Himself!
In the first ten chapters of the Bhagavada Gita Krishna lays out all the foundational principals of spiritual life beginning with the simple understanding that we are not our body. Then he teaches renunciation, mystical meditation, the analytical differences between matter and spirit, and finally knowledge about the nature of the absolute. At that point Arjuna requests Krishna if He would kindly reveal: “… how have you entered into this cosmic manifestation?” _Bg.11.3)
The reason this is significant is because Arjuna has given us by example, the type of question we should ask anyone who has the audacity to posturing themselves to be God, or even a Divine being! Digging wells, opening up hospitals, singing melodious Sanskrit prayers, being a charismatic speaker, or having a fast and witty intelligence are all interesting talents, but that doesn’t make them God, and it may not even qualify them to speak about God. Only those who have been properly deputized via the parampara system given by God Himself (Bg. 4.2) are in a position to give those types of instuctions. How could it be any other way?
Certainly there is nothing that is beyond Gods ability, so asking an “Incarnation of God” to provide some mystical fireworks like Krishna did to Arjuna is a very reasonable way of exposing the charlatans, of which there are innumerable, from Krishna Himself, the one and only Supreme Personality of Godhead!
Ojai Events!
“Onelove” Gathering at Lake Casitas October 9-12, 2015
Apparently the OneLove festival encountered some difficulties and was re-venued from Lake Casitas to Desert Palm springs. I was not prepared to make that drive 200 miles south of Ojai so I did not attend. Anyone who has further information regarding what happened in Palm Springs is invited to let me know.
“Ojai Days” Downtown Ojai Street Fair October 17, 2015
Ojai Days however is ready to burst out onto the streets of Ojai this Saturday. Every year Ojai holds a street festival that draws out a wide variety of artists, musicians, dancers and of course, all sorts of social, religious and philanthropic groups. I have booked a spot where I will bring out the Sastra Rath to present Srila Prabhupadas books and reach out to those in the community interested in expanding their education in the field of Vedic teachings. This is an all-day affair and it offers a great opportunity to share what you have learned at the Bhagavad Gita As It Is Fellowship Discussions with those who are lost in the sea of speculative thinking.
I am inviting anyone who wished to come to Ojai, as well as the all members of the AVA congregation to consider spending time with me a the AVA / Jagannatha Enterprises booth. It makes for an interesting day and is all part of becoming more fixed up in our relationship with Krishna.
For one who explains this supreme secret to the devotees, pure devotional service is guaranteed, and at the end he will come back to Me. – Bg 18.68
