Dear Devotees, Parents, Educators and Students,
Please accept our sincere obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
It gives us immense and profound pleasure to invite you to the
North American Education Conference
ISKCON Houston, July 30th through August 2nd, 2015
Last year, after almost 19-years, the Ministry of Education was able to organize a North American Symposium on education that lasted three days, from June 27th to 29th. It was an astonishing success and a major result is the organization of this second symposium.
The aim of this conference is to continue to consolidate our educational efforts, and to come together to devise a future strategy for expanding ISKCON Education in North America. This of course will require practical systems of communication, regular periodicals, web-pages, data-bases and many more regular special interest meetings.
Obviously we are all engaged in these fields because we have children, schools, communities and our own education to manage, so our idea is that this Conference will be a catalyst for facilitating these efforts and not an increased work load.
You will be seeing more detailed schedules, calendars and lists of participants in the next few days and weeks, but this being the vacation time in USA, we would like you to stamp these days on your Calendar now, so that details can be accommodated later.
In addition to the Conference…
… we are also planning six days of Professional Development Programs for Educators. This program was also offered last year by PhD, professional and experienced ISKCON educators. They had years of personal experience (mixed with insightful sarcasms and humor) to offer. This is planned for the week before the National Conference, 24th-29th July. Training will cater to early childhood education in all aspects: Primary, Secondary, Sunday School etc. These sessions are aimed at experienced educators.
Participation in the Conference and also in the Professional Development Programs are by registration only. As last year, Conference participation will only be $50 for all 4-days and Professional Development Programs will be charged as announced. ISKCON Houston will help with accommodations and transportation at Temple sites, devotee’s homes and member owned hotels. These will have to be charged and arranged separately.
We have a core committee working on this programs but the success of this effort depends on. . . you. Please contact us now and offer your help in organizing the topics, schedules and memberships of the different sessions; technical support; communication; donations; promotion etc.
