My father Dr. Sudhir Goyal (Shri Hari Dasa) worked on a project for USDA while doing his PhD 13 years ago. They invited my father to give a taste of Indian food, music, dance, and culture and philosophy to the employees of USDA/NRCS. First of all our family presented live music while chanting Hare Krishna Mahamantra after I explained them Mantra meditation. They participated in chanting with great enthusiasm by clapping and shaking their heads in appreciation of the holy names. Later my sister Shatakshi presented Indian classical Bharat Natyam dance. After that we served them fresh home cooked vegetarian and organic feast prasadam while they watched my presentation on how the Bhagavad gita nicely describes the finer eastern philosophical concepts of Karma, dharma, mantra meditation, yoga, vegetarianism, and reincarnation etc. Then we showed them the documentry movie on Ganga while they honoured prasadam. After the program they asked a lot of questions and two hard Bhagavad gitas were distributed. Their director was so impressed by the presentation that he requested my father to make similar presentation all over Idaho offices of USDA/NRCS. All the employees paid $5 per plate for the prasadam, which went to the temple donation box. Lord Chaitanya we wanted to participate in your mmission by doing “Jare Dekho Tare Kaho Krishna Updesh (wherevver you go and to whomsoever you meet just talk about Krishna and His teachings).
We are going to make a similar presentation in USDA/NRCS, Twin Falls office, Idaho on July 27. Please watch some of the photos attached and bless us so that we may carry out Srila Prabhupada’s mission of preaching Krishna Consciousness in every town and village.
