From SankirtanDiary
On 7 August 2007 at 11.20 p.m. in Sri Vrindavan Dham Sri Caitanyananda Dasa passed away, amidst blissful kirtana led by Aindra Prabhu. He spoke “Krsna, Krsna, Krsna” just before he left.
Caitanyananda had for several years previously been the leading distributor of Srila Prabhupada’s books in Finland. In November 2006 he was informed that he had cancer. Efforts to subdue the disease proving futile, he came to Vrindavan to pass away. He was never afraid, nor did he ever complain about the pain and discomfort he experienced as his body declined. His only lamentation was that he could not perform much service in this life.
The devotees who had attended him, headed by Ananda Vardhana Prabhu and Dr. Avinish, and indeed all who came to visit him in the days before his departure, were inspired by his clear consciousness, sobriety, and firm faith in the mercy and protection of Srila Prabhupada, Lord Krsna, and the Vaisnavas. After his passing no-one felt sad. All were happy in the knowledge of his having passed away so auspiciously, assuring his going back to Godhead.
Krsna looks after His devotees. Surely those who dedicate their lives to distributing Srila Prabhupada’s books will attain all auspiciousness.

This was a young Finnish man with great material opportunities ahead of him, but he sacrificed everything and threw himself totally into Krishna consciousness. He was so exuberant and grave in rendering his extraordinary services. He didn’t waste a second. Even though he departed this world still in his twenties or early thirties, he was mature, exemplary and never looked back. It was a privilege and pleasure to know such a sincere devotee. The benediction, muni putra ma jiva (oh brahmacari, don’t live) is appropriate here. Krishna took him back early and saved him so much trouble. All glories to the wonderful devotee Caitanyananda dasa Prabhu! All glories to Srila Prabhupada’s glorious follower!
From his servant and admirer,
Danavir Goswami
So many ancient devotees gave most of their time or laksmi for the progress of this society, and now, reaching the end of life, find themselves without any ressources or insurance to pay for their final days. Most other religions have a proper scheme for their members, and it seems as if there is a lack in our society.
Wouldn’t it be ideal for the BBT to reserve a percentage of its profits[5-10%?] for Vaisnavacare in order to be able to cater for more worldwide devotees?
Thanks,
Cidananda das
“He became a hero of whole ISKCON, and wonderfull example for the Finnish yatra.”

“He was a real sankirtan devotee…” (Aindra Prabhu.)
Aindra prabhu explained, that sometimes devotees who are about to leave are sensitive that the bhajans is not too loud, since their senses maybe become supersensitive. In CAd´s case they WERE chanting VERY loudly, after the first session Aindra asked if it was too loud, and Cad shook his head and showed his thumb as a sign of acceptance. Aindra prabhu said this is sign of true sankirtana devotee, that he wants to leave in a middle on chanting, the yuga-dharma.
Aindra had said that he was able to visit CAd´s place only three times that week, his voice could not tolerate more. On the third time Aindra said to CAd, “Don´t leave before we come again…”
Just some 1,5h later (on 7th of August) they were asked to come back since CAd was about to leave. Aindra´s team arrived just 12 minutes before the departure, and Cad left in a middle of intense chanting of Maha-mantra.
Caitanyananda prabhu ki Jaya!!
