Tasks/Duties
– Regularly attend and lead sanga programs to maintain present members and develop new ones
– Regularly peform pujas according to the needs of the congregation
– Work with the congregation to develop their involvement in our main festivals of Gaura Purnima, Rama Navami, Janmasthami, Dusshera and Diwali
Essential experience:
– minimum 1 year experience in the same/similar role
– Providing pastoral care to a Gaudiya Vaisnava congregation
– Performing samskaras and vedic havans in line with Gaudiya Vaisnava tradition
– Line managing, coaching and training 2 junior staff members
– Regularly give bhagavat (vedic scripture) lectures in hindi and Nepali language
– Formulate strategic and long term development plans in regards to the spreading Krishna Consciousness
– Develop the relationship between the congregation and residents through service
Qualifications:
– Experience in pastoral care that meets the needs of a Gaudiya Vaisnava South Asian community
-Committed member of ISKCON
-Chanting daily 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna maha mantra
-Committed to practising the four regulative principles
-Mature understanding of HDG AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada’s teachings
– full UK drivers license
