Here you can see the few pictures of Flood Relief Work organized by ISKCON at different flood affected villages.
Following is the Flood Relief Work Report from 29 September to 2 October 2007.
For the fifth day (3 Oct ’07), the devotees had departed by boat at 10 a.m. to carry out flood relief works at Idrakpur, Mollapara and Ballal Dighi villages. Thanks to the donors for helping us to begin the Flood Relief Works. We request all the vaisnavas to support generously to help more suffering villagers at this time of need.
2 Oct 2007:
Flood Relief Team distributed 6000 prasada packets, 4500 litres of purified water at Mahesh Ganj, Swarup Ganj village 39,35,31, Gournagar, Hulor ghat villages. Biscuit packets were distributed to 1500 Gournagar village children and 800 children at Hulor ghat. Mr.B. Banerjee, Block Developmental Officer visited ISKCON Flood Relief Camp and distributed Prasada packets.Mediacl Camp was set up at Mahesh Ganj and around 200 villagers were benefited.
1 Oct 2007:
7500 prasada packets were given to flood affected villagers in Char Brahma Nagar and Swarup Ganj village 28,29 and 34. 35 volunteers distributed prasada and 3000 litres of purified water.
30 Sept 2007:
The relief team distributed 11500 packets of dry prasada , 30 tarpaulins and 3300 litres of purified drinking water to five villages, Bharaidanga, Srinathpur, Swarup Ganj village 31,30,Gaurnagar and Taranpur.
29 Sept 2007:
The team led by Jagadarthiha das and Purananda das with 34 devotees went to Char Brahma Nagar, Swarup Ganj village 32 and Hulor ghat distributed 4000 packets for dry prasada (chipped rice and Gur) ,150 tarpaulins and 3300 litres of purified drinking water .
We need to provide the suffering dhama-vasis with:
* Tarpaulin sheets to provide bare minimal shelter. To provide for 1000 families, it will cost $3125.
* We will be distributing shortly the cattle feed to cows, bulls and calves in the flood affected areas. It will cost $2500.
* For 1 lakh Prasad plates/ packets distribution, we still have a shortfall of $10,000.
* For Medical Relief, we need $1875.
We humbly request the worldwide community of Vaisnavas to help us serve the suffering and needy dhama-vasis in the nearby villages.
