H. G. Nirguna Krsna prabhu, who has been residing in Sri Mayapur dham for the last six months with a terminal case of tumor, departed his mortal coil in the most auspicious and glorious manner at 1.21 PM November 3, 2007.
He was surrounded by loving devotees immersed in the Holy Names, and clutching Sri Giriraj Shila in his hand.
The cremation will take place on the banks of Mother Ganga within the hour.
All glories to Sriman Nirguna Krsna prabhu, whose life and soul was serving the lotus feet of his spiritual master Srila Prabhupada, and distributing his books. The sankirtan movement has lost the association of one of the stalwarts of book distribution and while we lament his absence, we rejoice in the glorious manner of his departure in full Krsna consciousness.

On November 3rd. Nirguna Krsna dasa acbsp left his body surrounded by Kirtan from his wellwishers and caretakers numbering 100 at 13:30 IST in Sridhama Mayapura to attain The transcendental world.
It was certainly amazing departure. after 2 “dress rehearsals” the last one being all night last night from 10 pm until 5 am. He was unconscious and breathing heavily last night at 12 midnight. we were all there with kirtan until 5 when he suddenly came awake with no pulse at all! Then after juice and a talk with Radhanatha Swami. His breathing became difficult at 11 am and he breathed with difficulty until 13:33 when he actually left.
The Kirtana exploded in happiness for his good fortune and indeed ours as well. He taught me a nice example how with devotees in kirtan rasa one can indeed stay up all night long without too much exhaustion.
Now I hope I can also remember how to do it again on Ekadasi’s and other such auspicious days.
After 2 times “dress rehearsal” it’s hard to believe it. He was such a tough man and it’s hard for the spirit soul to leave the body it has had for 55 years.
No one can estimate anyone’s good fortune caused by srila Prabhupada’s mercy in distributing Lord Caitanya to everyone in the Iskcon Movement.
Irregardless how, when, where, and why, we joined. By serving in this devotional process given by Srila Prabhupada’s Iskcon, and helped by service attitude in the company of devotees, we are laying seeds for our future good fortune.
Nirguna Krsna das has been dear to so many Iskcon devotees already for so many years by his selfless attitude in distributing books and his friendship.
After a personal traumatic upheaval in his marriage life that by Krsna’s plan fell upon him in USA, in March he was revealing his mind to Sriman Janmastami das and His good wife, Sankalpa dasi, that *maybe* he might want to get married again..
Then His cancer struck, (evidentally sent by Krsna to detach him and attach us all more to a vaisnava).. In April, and by May and June He’s been here in Mayapura.
He mentioned to me october 29th (Srila Narottama dasa disappearance day) in the evening time around 5 pm, just before he got a close call and almost left..
He mentione humbly, “I’ve so much attachments”. I replied to him, “what will you do with those attachements without a body to attempt them? Krsna has stolen it all, so allow Him to steal further your heart. Just embrace Lord Gauranga here in this Loving Mayapura Dhama in the loving care of all of the devotees and if Krsna calls you to come, then please agree and leave your body whenever Krsna tells you to. Your life in the past was successful by preaching, and how it is now successful by your example to think of Krsna, that is all that is left for you to do.
The holy name is your insurance policy, Ganga water is the refresher. the Kirtan and the atmosphere of Mayapura offer you shelter. What more does anyone want in this world? If we want anything but devotional service we’ll have to come back to this world”. leave it all.”

Personally, this experience here with Nirguna Krsna das is purifying me and all so much!
I know hope to work on book writing work, now with greater enthusiam since I’ve now seen my beloved God-brother Nirguna Krsna das so close to death from spinal cancer.
Please have the devotees around the globe pray to Nirguna Krsna dasa, He was “a real tskp trouper “. on oct 29th evening, He gave me the first of two “dress rehearsals”.. I’ll never forget it really… he had almost left that night, the shilas were in His hands and His blood pressure and breathing went way way down. then his eyes opened up and He said to me “I want to see Giriraja where is He!”
I replied, “Lord Balarama is happily in Your right Hand”. And I lifted it up for his eyes to see. He beamed. then I told him, “Krsna shila is next to Your right ear, so you may leave at anytime, Here in Mayapura all must embrace the Golden Lord Gauranga and be in Vrndavana in your footsteps. Leave when the Lord commands you”.
Yet His breathing stabilized and so it appears it was just a preparatory dress rehearsal, but the next two days to 1 week will be the days likely..
Yesterday, Oct 30th, in the morning Madhurya lila dasi, Janmastami’s dasa next door neighbor, was chanting with Nirguna as she has been doing and serving so personally for days at times in night etc.
He thanked her for her being so personal and loving with him. then He told her.. I’ve had a dream of Sri Radha surrounded with all Her lady friends, and She is inviting me… maybe I’m going to serve as a Manjari!”
The next day I was serving him in the afternoon when I prayed to Him, “When you leave this world, Prabhu, Please request the Lord of Vraja and His brother to be merciful and purify me so I become Their sincere devotee like you”.
He replied softly to me, “I’ll try”.. How sweet and sincere a servant is He!
Hari sauri dasa has nicely given his comments on that anecdote in his dandavats letter that has nicely clarified this story well..
So just see…. we all may come to Iskcon with so many desires and cares, which Krsna steals in this way or though life threatening diseases, this is all Krsna’s plan and ploy to steal his devotee’s heart.
A similar thing happened with Sacimata dasi here in Mayapura,(ed-add the date she left in mayapur with MS)… or you could say that likely about Radha kunda das, (Varunthini ekadasi 2007) or Caitanyananda dasa Br (August 7th in vraja from Cancer).
Namahatta dasa in 1995 vraja, Krsna comes in this cancer to take his beloved devotee back to His arms, as Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura mentioned something like this (get the real quote -ed).
” Krsna takes those away from our presence those that He loves the most”.
In SB 12. 3 50 the Lord promises to tell those who meditate on him at the time of death their eternal service in the spiritual world.
After so many sincere years of preaching Lord Caitanya’s message for Srila Prabhupada’s pleasure, Lord Gauranga and the members of the Panca Tattva have given Nirguna Krsna Dasa his just reward and liberation in the wonderful transcendental land of Sri Dhama Mayapura.
Before their departure we all pray to Their Lordships for them and now after the departure of such special devotees in the Dhama, we may now reverse the role and pray to them for their mercy.
