The daughter of Srila Prabhupada, Bhaktilata Dey left her body yesterday (Ekadashi) at 4 am. Her younger brother Vrindavan Chandra Dey performed her last rites. She was unmarried and was staying with her brother.

Sad to hear this. Although Srila Prabhupada was generally aloof from his former family, he was somewhat attentive to their needs. After all, he was a successful business man for many years and provided for them. When I was Srila Prabhupad's personal secretary in 1976 while in Mayapur, Srila Prabhupada had me come in and take a dictation for a letter he wanted to send….
He started, "Dear babi?ji", I said "babaji?" he said no "Babyji, my daughter". He wrote a note that he wanted here to come visit him in Mayapur to speak with her privately, which she did. I left them, when she came of course, to talk privately.
Srila Prabhupada was not an uncaring man. He had his own style of distanced affection for his son Vrindaban Chandra, and his daughter, and even provided some security for his former wife.
I hope she will end up in her spiritual form in our Srila Prabhupada's company once again. Pusta Krishna das
