Update 15th September 2018
Mangalananda das: My dear wife Yamini left this world today, Friday the 14th at 12:15 pm PST. She was surrounded by loving devotees chanting Hare Krishna. It was a very auspicious departure.
The Krishna consciousness of our lives was intertwined in every aspect of the day. I will miss her tremendously. I pray to serve with you again in the future. Hare Krishna
Srimati Yamini Devi Dasi, a disciple of Srila Prabhupada, known and loved for her Krishna conscious singing, is about to leave her body.
Mangalananda das: Sept. 13th 2018
After my last post we received many emails with prayers to the Lord for Yamini’s along with some of your favorite verses. She was happy and grateful to hear your heart felt words.
This is the first day Yamini didn’t eat breakfast. Last night around 2am when I was giving her medication she sang a few Hare Krishna’s along with Prabhupada’s tape. Today she is not speaking. The nurse said she doesn’t have the energy to respond but she can hear and understand. So I’ll keep reading to her.
We are getting help from nice devotee caregivers and Ladali and Mahabharata have been very loving, and generous for letting us stay at their home these last few months for Yamini’s hospice.
Lord Krishna says “Meditate on Me as One who knows everything” I have to trust that Krishna will take her when the time is right. It seems like it will be soon.
Yamini really enjoyed writing songs and singing about Krishna’s pastimes. Please pray to Lord Krishna to continue blessing her with the joy of His devotional service.

This world has lost a mahatma with the disappearance of Yamini dd. Though all her devotional life, she sang heart-stirring songs about the pastimes of Krishna, she was a somewhat unsung hero herself due to her intrinsic humility. I first met her in 1971 in New Vrndaban, and her mood of surrender was exemplary then and continued throughout her life. Her partnership with Mangalananda pr. was made in heaven, and my condolences to him whose soulmate has been called back to the spiritual world. Jaya Yamini dd!
