URI will bring together over 300 members and friends for the second Global Assembly, “Pilgrims of Peace: Many Paths, One Purpose,” in Mayapur, (November 30 to December 5, 2008) including delegates from nearly 400 CCs, over 100 young leaders from around the world, nearly 100 Global Council and Global Staff Members, URI affiliates and friends. H.H. Bhaktiswarupa Damodara Swami was a founding member of URI. Before his departure in 2006, Maharaj wished that one day URI’s conference to be held in Sri Mayapur Dhama. To honor and fulfill his desire, URI decided to hold their Global assembly in Mayapur.
Over 100 Youth and URI Global Council Staff had arrived in Mayapur. URI’s Young Leaders Progam is going on in Mayapur now from Nov.24th. URI youth expressed their happiness to be in Mayapur. They greet all the devotees with ‘Hare Krsna’ and are curious to know more about Mayapur. For many of them, it is their first visit to India.
Since October, ISKCON Mayapur Management and BI Kolkata started to work together in order to host this program in its utmost care and hospitality.
Different projects, like lodging, meals, conference hall, cultural program, touring around Mayapur and special arrangements for stage program was started.
Various menus came to shape in order that the participants feel at home. Different cultural programs are being organized. Various tours in and around Mayapur are being organized.
We request all the vaisnavas blessings and prayers to host a very successful URI Global Assembly in Mayapur.
