This story of Lord Nrsimha is told in the seventh song of the great book Srimad Bhagavatam. It talks about how the greatest demon, Hiranyakasipu, terrorized the whole universe. The post of ruler was captured at the cost of incredible austerities. Particularly tragic was the fate of his son, the great devotee Prahlad. Despite all the strengths and tricks of Hiranyakasipu, Lord Nrisimha condescended Himself to save Prahlad.
When the devotees hear, “Narasimha!”, A whole gamut of feelings rises in their hearts.
Narasimha is always ready to help, He gives hope that all the obstacles on the spiritual path will be broken as Hiranyakasipu. Devotees know that no matter what happens, they are always under the protection of Narasimha’s formidable nails.
And we rejoice together that evil has been defeated, ignorance has disappeared, the armies of demons run away in fear, and the little boy Prahlad puts on a garland on his beloved Lord Sri Narasimhadev.
