Last month, worldwide, we did quite well as usual. But March will be different, for this was the first month of the lockdown. For the sake of health and safety, officials recommended and insisted on social distancing
(staying six feet away from others) and staying home as much as possible.
Some devotees still distribute books, despite the seriousness of the pandemic. Srila Prabhupada said that devotees are fearless, but not foolish. Two devotees already have left their bodies, and others have tested positive for the virus. So better be safe than sorry.
This can be a blessing in disguise. Now we have time to connect with the favorable people we have met. So write to them or call them. We can also use this time to hear and chant more, but let’s be careful and not waste the time that Krsna has given us, as Prabhupada quite often said, “Don’t waste time.”
Recently, I spoke to Vaisesika Prabhu, who is working on the possibilities for distributing books through social media and the internet. He has a great brain for innovation, so this could be a positive thing taking place. He is the BBT Marketing Communications and Innovations director and is sold out to book distribution. I am sure he will come up with ways to distribute books which we have never dreamed of.

NOTICE: SB sets change -- Double Points!
As of September 1, 2019 the book points for Srimad Bhagavatam sets have
changed. They have been doubled to 72 points per SB set. This means the
way you report sets will have to change.
When you report sets you should list SB sets separately from other types
of sets so they can receive their extra credit. Also the books in SB sets
should NOT be included in your other mahabig books being reported. They
will automatically be added later as 18 mahabig books per set and 4 points
for each book.
The books included in other types of sets (CC setsī) should continue to be
included in the other mahabig books being reported as usual.
Please indicate on your scoresheet that your SB sets are listed separately
and not included in your mahabig totals. Otherwise they will be subtracted
from your mahabig books.

1997 GBC Resolution #103: That the score system for the Sankirtan Newsletter
is changed to include the following for individual distribution:
1. The category "Regular"
(a) to count only literature which is actually sold for some profit
(ideally double BBT price) and given into the hands of the
receivers personally.
(b) literature distributed by accepting post dated checks shall only be
counted when at least the BBT price has been received.
2. The new category "Subsidized" for the following methods of distribution
for individuals:
(a) devotees working in teams of two or more and recording their group
effort as one score.
(b) subsidized books which are sold for BBT price or less.
(c) sponsored books which are given to people who can value them
(i.e. VIPs, libraries, schools, prisons, etc.).
Those individuals who are doing these types of subsidized distribution
must specify it when reporting scores to the newsletter. Temple and
Country scores stay the same. There is no need to report temple scores
in two categories.
3. Free distribution
Free distribution by individuals and temples who give out literature
free of cost shall not be counted in the newsletter (except as provided
for in "Subsidized" above).
Note: Individuals distributing an unusually large number of books will
automatically be put in the Special Teams Unlimited (Subsidized) category
unless they explain why they belong in the Regular category.
The Regular category in the Sankirtan Newsletter is for devotees who
approach people one-on-one and personally give them books, getting at least
the book cost from each person.
The Team category (or Special Teams Unlimited category) is for everything
else, including corporate book distribution, sponsored books, donated books,
books sold below BBT cost, groups of two or more devotees, special temple
programs, and devotees getting extra help in any other way which other
devotees do not have equal access to and which makes it unfair to be
included in the Regular category.
