Glories of Purusottam Month
(from Padma and Skanda Puranas)
Lord Sri Krsna: “Purusottama month has all the power I have to bless its observer. One who follows Purusottama vrata will destroy all his past sinful reactions. Without performing Purusottama vrata,
one cannot perform pure devotional service. The value of Purusottama month is far more valuable than all other types of austerities and religious activities mentioned in the Vedas. Anyone who observes Purusottama vrata will return to my abode, Goloka, at the end of his life”.
Durvasa Muni: “Just by bathing in a holy river during Purusottama month, one becomes sinless. The glory of all other months is not equal to one-sixteenth of the glory of the Purusottama month. By bathing in a holy place, giving charity and chanting the Holy Name Krsna during Purusottama month, all miseries are destroyed; one attains all kinds of perfection and fulfills all his desires.
Valmiki Muni: “By observing Purusottama vrata, one attains more benefit than performing one hundred horse sacrifices. All holy places live within the body of a Purusottama month vrati. Anyone who faithfully performs Purusottama vrata will go to Goloka Vrndavana”.
Narada Muni: “Purusottama month is the best of all months, vratas and austerities. Just by faithfully hearing the glories of Purusottama month, one attains krsna-bhakti and immediately nullifies his sinful reactions. One who performs Purusottama vrata properly will attain unlimited sukrti and go to the spiritual world.
Naimisaranya Sages: “Merciful Purusottama month acts like a desire tree to fulfill a devotee’s desire”.

Glories of Navadvip dham Parikrama
“If your heart is set on crossing beyond the ocean of repeated birth and death, if your heart relishes the sweet nectar of Krsna Sankirtana, and if your heart yearns to swim and sport in the ocean of pure love of Krsna, then please reside in Mayapur Dham”
Navadvipa Sataka
Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama was initiated some 470 year ago with Lord Nityananda taking Srila Jiva Gosvami on a parikrama of the holy dham.
Nityananda Prabhu said to Jiva, “Although in the eyes of common people, Visvambhara took sannyasa and left Navadvipa to go elsewhere, actually My Gauranga never gives up Mayapur or Navadvipa. The devotees can perceive His daily lila. You, Jiva, will also see Gauranga dancing. Around Mayapur is beautiful Antardvipa, where Brahma received the darsana of Gauranga. O Jiva, if you want to see all this, please go on parikrama. It will be very beneficial for you”.
“Hearing the Lord’s words, Jiva, with tears in his eyes, fell flat like a stick at Nityananda Prabhu’s feet and requested, You will show real mercy on this unworthy wretch if You Yourself take me on parikrama.” – Navadvipa Dhama Mahatmya, by Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura
In recent times, since its inception in 1918 by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada, the Gaudiya Vaisnavas have been performing parikrama around Sri Navadvipa Mandala. In 1972, Srila Prabhupada took some of his disciples on parikrama of Sri Navadvipa Dham, and since that time ISKCON Mayapur has been performing Navadvipa parikrama.
Fulfilling the instructions of Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur to develop Sri Navadvipa Mandal Parikrama, for the pleasure of previous acharyas, ISKCON Mayapur conducts Annual Navadvipa Mandal Parikrama during Gaura Purnima festival. Devotees also visit Sri Mayapur in Purusottama month, damodar month to perform Navadvip dham Parikrama.
This year is unique in that no Pandemic can stop the flow of Lord Gauranga’s mercy and in fact, for the first time, you can visit Navadvip dhama, sing the holy names of Lord, and worship Lord Gauranga and Nityananda, all from wherever you are. As rightly said by our Parikrama Commander, HH Jayapataka Swami- “Visit one holy site to another each day, Save your feet and leave the walk to zoom”!

He has been taking part in Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama since its inception and is working hard to develop holy sites of Navadvipa Mandala.
Gopal Krishna Goswami
HH Gopal Krishna Goswami is a senior disciple of His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and is a senior leader in Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama. Every year Gopal Krishna Goswami has been taking part in Navadvipa Parikrama along with a big group of devotees from Delhi. We shall be blessed to hear Parikrama Realizations from Maharaja.
Bhakti Vighna Vinasa Narasimha Swami
HH Bhakti Vighna Vinasa Narasimha Swami is a senior disciple of His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and he leads the annual Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama International party every year. He will be taking us into the journey of Navadvipa Mandala unfolding the sweet pastimes of Lord Gauranga and His associates.
Jananivas Prabhu
HG Jananivas Prabhu is a senior disciple of His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and he is the head pujari of ISKCON Mayapur. He will share his realizations in a journey spanning over 40 years of stay in Mayapur dhama. He will enlighten us on the Navadvipa dhama Mahatmya, as extolled by Sri Bhakti Vinod Thakur.
Pankajanghri Prabhu
HG Pankajanghri Prabhu is a senior disciple of His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and he is serving as a head pujari along with his twin brother Jananivasa das. He shares a special relationship with the deities of Sri Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra in Simantadvipa and will share the pastimes of deities in Navadvip Mandala.
Bhakti Purushottam Swami
HH Bhakti Purushottam Swami is a senior disciple of HH Jayapataka Swami and has been serving Sridham Mayapur for more than 5 decades. Maharaja is a senior leader of the annual Navadvipa Mandal Parikrama. He has also authored a book on Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama. Stalwart in Gaura Katha, Maharaja’s nectarean katha on different islands and tirthas will bring dham closer to everyone’s heart.
