Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
For the last year or so, the Government of India has been realigning its processes and policies to reduce red tapes and improve governance.
A part of this process has been to form 17 specialized sub-committee involving various Federal Ministries, United Nations agencies and respected NGOs to identify policy bottlenecks, suggest best practices and recommend policies to the Union cabinet of ministers for converting them into laws.
Since the news of these subcommittees was published, we have been trying to make ISKCON a part of this process.
We are glad to inform that today in the newly reconstituted subcommittees under the NITI Aayog (Indian government’s official thinktank which is chaired by PM Modi), ISKCON has been made a part of the “Sustainable Livelihood” committee along with Tata Trust, Lupin Foundation, Mahindra Foundation, Deendayal Research Institute (thinktank of RSS) and few others.
This opens a new door for ISKCON to engage on the policy level with the government and other respected civil society organizations.
Attached is a screenshot of our subcommittee members.
Thank you.
Your servant, Yudhistir Govinda Das
