HG Tribhuvanth Prabhu’s Disappearance Day/ Padayatra Belfast to Moscow 30 years on

Parasuram dasa: On the 1st June 1990 , Belfast City, war times, although some would call it “the troubles.” I had to get the horse and chariot into the city centre, for the first days walk of a historic pilgrimage in honour of Srila Prabhupada’s Centennial.

We worked through the night, built Srila Prabhupada’s vyasasan, and somehow got moving. Seven brahmacaris on a white knuckle ride through the traffic, even got pulled by the British Army in a tank for dangerous driving. A lame apology and we were moving again. Soon we were entering the pedestrian zone, at least we wouldn’t get a driving ticket for a restricted area. But where were the devotees?

A few tense minutes of trying to detect the Kirtan. Turning a corner I saw the most beautiful sight ever, my anxiety gone, there was Tribhuvanth Prabhu, head held back, feet stamping, and the mood was electric. That second the national TV crew arrived, we were featured on 6pm news and again on 9pm news.

Tribhuvanth Prabhu lived life on the edge, rented halls for festivals without any resources to cover the cost but with full conviction that Krishna would carry what we lack. Now by accident I was in the same boat. We had a £5 note, the total funds between us all.

There were sixty devotees with us from around Europe, many were senior devotees. We had arrived at the camp site, a farm, started to rain, eyes turned towards me, where are the tents?

Tribhuvanth Prabhu wasn’t fazed, immediately the farmer came and offered us his barns, problem solved.

Tribhuvanth Prabhu saw an urgency to push the mission, to please his spiritual master, he had little interest in his personal comforts, even his suitcase was a bin liner.

We all knew he loved Srila Prabhupada and Srila Prabhupada loved him.

A month later Tribhuvanth Prabhu brought to Ireland the whole UK gurukula. How were we going to feed everyone? we were financially challenged.

Lokanath Swami gave me all his money, 100 dollars, and said when that runs out just focus on the lotus feet of Sri Sri Nitai Gaurasundra.

In 2001 Tribhuvanth prabhu left his body, we placed his ashes in the Yamuna near Kesi ghat. The same day George Harrison left his body.

Jai Tribhuvanth Prabhu

    Hare Krishna.
Windsor Great Park festival in 1975, it was a lovely summers day. I was as high as a kite on LSD. In the evening i was wandering around the festival site just enjoying the ambience and then i heard the sounds. Never heard anything like that before, the sound of a Kirtana. And on LSD it was just absolutely mesmerizing. Then i approached the arena and the Kirtana was so loud. I stood there and SAW the Holy Name travelling through the air straight into my eyes, it was sound vision. My senses were all mixed up on Lsd. All night I stayed with the Kirtana. It was a ferocious Kirtana. In the morning the devotees served up hot Kitchari and Chapattis, a supreme tasty delight and i met and talked to Tribhuvanatha dasa. He was amazing, such a friendly person. Next year i was at Seasalter, Kent. Another festival in the long hot dry 1976 Summer. That night the weather broke after months of drought and we all danced in the rain and lost all our Tents and clothes. And there they were again, a Bus full of devotees handing out free prasadam again. But this time i received some free Books, the Bhagavad-gita As It Is, and some others, and a pamphlet on chanting Hare Krishna and some beads. I could not stop reading the Bhagavad-gita and chanting Hare Krishna and all because of Tribhuvanath dasa. All through the 1980's we met at Bhaktivedanta manor and Tribhuvanath was a good friend to me and told me loads of stories of his adventures as a devotee.
