By Subhadra dasi
With the trouble in the middle east, there has been much speculation by the media if this is indeed the beginning of World War III, the beginning of the end of the world. For some reason, I have not been overly anxious about the future, or what might be in store. And as I was reading The Bhagavad-Gita tonight, I found the answer why.
Srila Prabhupada writes in his purport to Chapter 10, verses 4-5:
Bhava, birth, should be understood to refer to the body. As far as the soul is concerned, there is neither birth nor death; that we have discussed in the beginning of Bhagavad-gita. Birth and death apply to one’s embodiment in the material world. Fear is due to worrying about the future. A person in Krsna consciousness has no fear because by his activities he is sure to go back to the spiritual sky, back home, back to Godhead. Therefore his future is very bright. Others, however, do not know what their future holds; they have no knowledge of what the next life holds. So they are therefore in constant anxiety. If we want to get free from anxiety, then the best course is to understand Krsna and be situated always in Krsna consciousness. In that way we will be free from all fear. In the Srimad-Bhagavatam it is stated that fear is caused by our absorption in the illusory energy, but those who are free from the illusory energy, those who are confident that they are not the material body, that they are spiritual parts of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and are therefore engaged in the transcendental service of the Supreme Godhead, have nothing to fear. Their future is very bright. This fear is a condition of persons who are not in Krsna consciousness. Abhayam, fearlessness, is only possible for one in Krsna consciousness.
If you have Krishna Consciousness, there is no fear! Fear is due to worrying about the future. A person in Krsna consciousness has no fear because by his activities he is sure to go back to the spiritual sky, back home, back to Godhead. Therefore his future is very bright.
No Fear. Just surrender at the lotus feet of Lord Krishna and ask His protection. It will be so. Abhayam, fearlessness, is only possible for one in Krsna consciousness.
Hare Krsna!
Chant and be Happy

“those who are free from the illusory energy, those who are confident that they are not the material body, that they are spiritual parts of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and are therefore engaged in the transcendental service of the Supreme Godhead, have nothing to fear.”
True abhaya (fearless) state come when:
– One is free from the illusory energy – That means that one can factually see the spiritual domain which is beyond illusory enery.
– those who are confident that they are not the material body. Here it means that those who factually realize (not just blind faith) that they are not the body.
– that they are spiritual parts of the Supreme Personality of Godhead – Here it means that we should not only realize that we are spiritual but we also realize Krishna. Realizing Krishna starts with realizing Krishna in our heart (paramatma).
– therefore engaged in the transcendental service of the Supreme Godhead; be situated always in Krsna consciousness; This means that our senses, mind, intelligence and then soul should be engaged in bhakti.
In other to reach true fearless state, we should achieve above goals. I hope this helps to understand what SP states.
“Just surrender at the lotus feet of Lord Krishna ” – This is a very deep statement. True surrender is attained when we realize above aspects of bhakti.

It doesn’t appear the Subhadra dasi requires a purport by you to help her understand what Srila Prabhupada means: she’s understood perfectly. That’s because Srila Prabhupada’s purports are perfect, and don’t require re-explanation through someone’s faulty vision.
Thanks for your posting, Subhadra…nice realizations.
