Jayapataka Swami: HG Krishna Kirtana dasa Brahmachari leaves his body
His Grace Kṛṣṇa Kīrtana dāsa brahmacārī was one of the pioneers of the Bangladesh preaching effort. He left after performing a long lecture, chanting bhajan, taking prasādam, he suddenly had chest pain. He had been taken to the hospital, but then he passed away while having a heart attack. So, his body has been taken to Ḍhakā, where they will perform the final rites.
Deena Bandhu Das: Please join us in prayers! The pioneer of preaching in Bangladesh and a very dear disciple of HH Jayapataka Swami, Krishna Kirtan Prabhu, just departed last night! He was very famous for his wonderful sweet kirtans. He was one of the jewels of ISKCON kirtaniyas who knew all the traditional Padavali tunes of Vaisnava bhajans. HG Krishna Kirtan did a program last night near Dinajpur, Bangladesh, with kirtan and wonderful Hari Katha! Afterward, he honored prasadam, felt ill, and lay down. Close to midnight he departed!

Parama Karuna Das He took me under his wing when I travelled with the travelling sankirtana party in Bangladesh about +years agoHe was a expert and confinfident preacher .very artistic and talented in song and drama and very sweet kirtans.I remember when programmes were held to villagers would come from all over the district we were in in and stay all night and be spiritually entertained by Krishna Kirtan Prabhu and his group .he would mc the event .he was very humerous and soft hearted and everyone felt the love he emanated.He taught me about the hundreds of different types of Sak growing naturally in Bangladesh .he had vast knowledge in many areas.I often felt honoured to have had some association with him and thought of him oftenAll glories to his service .a great person and devotee.Hare Krishna .please Krishna Kirtan Prabhu put in a favourable word to Srila Prabhupada and Sri Krishna for this fallen wretched soul.Ys

He was the most authentic kirtaniya in Iskcon and a great preacher in Bangladesh.I’m posting a video of a talk I gave and a kirtan that he gave in Maypur during the festival in . He leads the singing of ‘Radha Krishna Prana Mora’ by Narottam Das Thakur. Along with Nityananda Prana and other devotees from Bangladesh. When I visited Bangladesh for the first time in the year 1999, I experienced him to be the most senior and prominent local devotee in ISKCON Bangladesh. Most devotees from this first generation were cultivated and trained by him. He had developed a particular preaching style which introduced the Bangladeshi people to ISKCON through cultural pandal programs which included bhajans, talks, dramas and prasadam. He travelled far and wide through the entire country of Bangladesh conducting such programs, and in this way spread the awareness of Srila Prabhupada’s preaching mission to every town and village of Bangladesh. So many brahmacaris were taking part in this preaching program and received wonderful training in musical abilities such as singing and playing various instruments, and also in speaking and presenting various topics of our philosophy. Krishna Kirtan Prabhu himself was a very expert and cultured musician and speaker. In this way, through his personal example and training he gave the devotees their first taste and experience in being a part of Lord Caitanya’s sankirtan mission. He also travelled many times abroad, and his traditional kirtans and bhajans are known in ISKCON worldwide.
The training Krishna Kirtan Prabhu gave to the first generation of devotees later formed the very foundation to their further training in other aspects of the process of sadhana bhakti. In this way, he made a very significant contribution to the devotees in ISKCON Bangladesh, offering the foundation to what we have been able to meanwhile establish now in ISKCON Bangladesh up to this very day.
I had the good fortune to regularly travel with his preaching party over several years. I fondly remember those days – it was indeed Krishna Kirtan Prabhu, who introduced me to serving and preaching in Bangladesh! He would personally encourage and instruct me how to speak and sing on these programs, and often he would also explain to me various aspects of the Bangladeshi mentality and way of thinking and living. He was always open to involve foreign devotees in his preaching mission and thus gave many of us foreigners a wonderful experience of Vaishnava culture in Bangladesh. I remember him as a well-wishing and caring gentleman, who had a genuine desire to serve his Guru Maharaja, His Holiness Jaya Pataka Swami Maharaja.
One of Krishna Kirtan Prabhu’s outstanding and noteworthy qualities is, that he always took firmly shelter of his service of preaching, and of the association of devotees. Even, when he had to face challenges, he nevertheless continued with fixed determination and great dedication with his preaching programs, always sticking to the association of devotees. Even when he did not have much facilities to support his preaching program – no vehicles and not much manpower – even then he continued traveling and preaching, accepting the austerities of traveling by public transport. Nothing could stop him…! This shows indeed a glorious mood of sacrifice in service.
Up to his very last breath he continued with this service of preaching, even though his health gradually deteriorated. He has sacrificed his life in the preaching mission and affected so many people’s lives bringing them closer to Krishna…! All glories to His Grace Krishna Kirtan Prabhu!
