Mahasrngha das is initially from the USA. He has been seriously ill from the Covid virus for 10 days now. He currently resides at Iskcon Jaipur temple. There is no hospital nearby that has oxygen. He is thus reconciled to departing this life, and has stopped eating. Please pray that his suffering is soon over – and if he is to depart this life, that his soul is comforted, and led to his next destination by the sweet sounds of the Lord’s holy names.

I recall the first time I met you in 1977 in Vrndavana, Fogel Ashram, after the Mayapura festival, where I shared a room with devotees from Miami. Some how I had lost my sleeping bag, and even though the nights were still chilly you insisted that I take your sleeping bag. I thought how magnanimous you were to a complete stranger.
Later from 1980-81 we had more association in Kolkatta and especially in Bangalore 1981-3. You had brought the Mayapura TSKP to BLR and acted as the TP to the fledgling temple there while was I busy studying Jyotisa. We didn’t always agree because you thought all this astrology stuff was hocus-pocus. But it was hard to stay angry with you because even though at times you portrayed a gruff exterior your jolly mood and kind, good nature would always shine through.
I remember one time you had this idea to collect donations from Muslims so I hopped on the back of the scooter and went with you to some Muslim’s home to collect a donation. They (me too) were amazed that you had the audacity to ask them for a donation and just politely ignored us. But you were tenacious and preached to them until, just to get rid of us, they gave an acceptable donation and we left. I couldn’t believe what I had just experienced.
I remember many other humorous incidents but these comments sections don’t allow for long texts.
In closing I pray that Lord Caitanya takes you with Him into His eternal Sankitan Party.

Mahasrnga is a dear friend as we have spent much time together in South India when he took over the Bangalore temple from me in the early 80s. I'm deeply saden to hear this news, but I don't know why Ivermectin a known cure and prevention for Covid is not been used more widely. Other devotees have recovered from COVID-19 in using this. Panchagauda prabhu is one in India that I know of. The science on this overwhelming.
In any case, my sincere thoughts and prayers are with him.
