Bhubanesvar prabhu has entered into the eternal pastimes of Sri Sri Radha Syamasundar, Sri Sri Krishna Balaram and Sri Sri Gaura Nitai and Srila Prabhupada at 5:10 p.m. IST.
Radharani’s favorite cook for decades, Bhubanesvara prabhu, is in his final hours in this world. He is surrounded by devotees in his room in Vrindavan at the time.
All glories to His Grace Bhubanesvara prabhu!!!

Toda las glorias a Bhubaneswara prabhu
Those of us who met him know he had some problem with his mentality.
I pray that he will progress nicely now.
He was both kind and unnecessarily rude to me.
But I am taking the good and praying for his welfare.
Hare Krsna
All glories to His Grace Bhubanesvara Prabhu, an exemplary disciple of Srila Prabhupada
I had some association years ago in Los Angeles in the early '70's. He was a dedicated book distributor. Later in the '80's I met him again in Chicago, where he was working in the kitchen. He wanted to go to India, as he was not happy there. In 1986, I went to Vrindavan, where he was working the book warehouse. Later, I heard that he had become the cook, having been convinced that he was needed there. I'm sure others will have their stories about him. He was a sort of avadhuta, but he always had a very pointed realization to share, and he could see what kind of Maya you were in and didn't hesitate to chastise you for it. He was extremely humble. I never detected any mundane desires in him. He was a Prabhupada man through and through. I was shocked to hear that he had passed. No doubt he has left this material world altogether. RIP my friend.
Hare Krishna!
What can I say? Another friend of mine has left this world leaving me sad but more determined spiritually. Bhubanesvara was a great soul, very serious and at the same time he had a good sense of humor. I served with him on the Radha Damodar Sankirtan Party and then later at the Chicago temple.
Whenever I went to Vrindavan I always made it a point to visit him in his room. Once we went visiting different temples together, after getting off our rickshaw, a bubbly attractive young woman enthusiastically came up to Bhubanesvara and asked him a question. He completely ignored her.
Before visiting Vrindavan, I would ask him if he needed anything. He asked for things which helped him in his service of cooking for the Deities, like sharp knives, honey and ghee. He said that you cannot get good knives, pure honey or ghee in India. My visits to Vrindavan will no longer be the same without Bhubanesvara there. For me there will be a vacancy now.
Bhubanesvara Prabhu served Srila Prabhupada for about 50 years, cooking for Radha Shyamasundara, Krishna Balarama and Gaura Nitai in Vrindavan for 40 of those years. His whole life was dedicated to serving Srila Prabhupada and ISKCON. I am confident he is now back in Goloka, Vrindavan serving Radha Shyamasundara in his spiritual body. Bhubanesvara Prabhu Ki Jaya!
Your humble servant,
Pyari Mohan Das
