We have a vacancy to be filled in our temple in Carriere, MS USA and are inviting applications to fill this role. We have no gurukula, but we have 55 cows and a wonderful cow protection program. Srila Prabhupada personally visited this 1200-acreT Holy Dhama, and we are in the process of building a new 6000 sq foot temple. Our morning program is in person without major covid restrictions in place. There are a dozen Srila Prabhupada disciples in which to associate with! Finally, we have an abundant organic garden program throughout the year (even during the mild winter!).
***Please note this role is available as service with a wage of $100 per week.

Title: Pujari
Role Description: To perform 35 hours a week of Pujari duties for Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Radha Kanta and Sri Sri Gaura Nitai located at New Talavan, a 100+ community of devotees (29 devotees live on the farm and the rest live around the farm).
Pay: This role pays $100 a week, plus free room and board (a small one bedroom, one living room / kitchen room) and free prasadam.
Qualifications: The devotee must be strictly following all the regulative principles. They must be a fully practicing member of ISKCON and served at an ISKCON project. They must have experience working as a Pujari, either Part-Time or Full-Time. References are required and a full background check will be performed. To be able to fulfill these roles they must have basic English language skills. Devotees over the age of 60 years need not apply. All health conditions that would interfere with your service must be disclosed!
Duration: The position is full-time for the foreseeable future and we require a commitment of at least 12 months to begin with, but ideally as a long term (3 years +) role.
Note: We will consider both individuals and families, but please note we have a mandatory attendance policy for the morning program. You must attend the morning program a minimum of four days a week, either the first half of the program from 4:30am to 7:00am or the second half of the program form 7:00am to 8:30am.

As per notice on Dandavat.com, I'm interested in pujari seva. I'm looking for service in a temple where I can give service for a long time of my life and please devotees and the Lord.
I have a long time experience in ISKCON as a pujari, since I grew up in ISKCON.I was Brahamachari for a long time, I'm Brahaman initiate from 2011from HH Mahavishnu Swami maharaj.I have experience of doing pujari seva in different temples in the past. I served as pujari in ISKCON Melbourne from 2013-2017. I am doing pujari seva in ISKCON Nepal till now.
Here is a list of services I provide
1. All the seva for deities from early morning; deity wakes up to put them for rest, that includes Arati, Bhoga cooking, offering, doing arati, deity dressing, and services for Them at different times.
2. leading kirtan/ Harinam with musical instruments(Mridanga, kartal, Harmonium,Accordion, flute etc.
3. I do follow regulative principles strictly and do my Sadhana of chanting 16 minimum rounds everyday and study prabhupada books.
Right now I'm in ISKCON Nepal. I can cooperate with devotees from any background and serve happily. I will be fully obeing temple. Let me know if I have to pay for the application fee or anything further. I'm really looking for a temple like Mississippi and to give my life serving in a good community of devotees. hoping for your favorable response. Hare Krishna.

Is it even legal to put such a blatant statement of age discrimination on a job posting? This could get New Talavan in big trouble with the government. Also, it's saddening to realize that, according to their job requirements, if Srila Prabhupada applied for the position they would turn him away — TOO OLD!!!
With most of Srila Prabhupada's disciples now between 60 and 85 years of age, this is even more perplexing. For the long-term good of New Talavan, I do hope an energetic young pujari can be found. But to be so blatantly on the bodily platform, in violation of U.S. labor laws, and in a way that excludes Prabhupada and his disciples as unfit, that's just not a good look for a temple.
