By Praghosa dasaRecently, in Alachua, the local GBC segretary Sesa prabhu had a program for about one month where he sat under a canopy outside the temple each Sunday feast with a sign "Ask a GBC." So the devotees had the chance to approach, ask and discuss different GBC related questions.

By Radha Sundari ddRecently on occasions of speaking about Bhakti-tirtha Swami I've talked about very close early association with him on the library party when he was a rough gem, he was actually an unpolished gem, but he actually was a fully potent gem in his ability to sell books to college professors by hook or crook.

By Shiva dasTo broadcast the cult of Krishna consciousness, one has to learn the possibility of renunciation in terms of country, time and candidate. A candidate for Krishna consciousness in the Western countries should be taught about the renunciation of material existence, but one would teach candidates from a country like India in a different way.

By Tamohara dasFirst, Srila Prabhupada very clearly states in one of the first purports that this was NOT the Brahma who was instructed from within by Krsna, and became the founder of our sampradaya (Brahma is a post, not a person). Prabhupada says that this Brahma with the daughter Vak is from a different kalpa.

By Sangita devi dasiIt has recently come to our attention that there is some confusion regarding Buddhi Yoga Society, and Vaisnavas C.A.R.E. Inc. (www.vaisnavascare.com). Although both organizations are concerned about the welfare of the Vaisnavas, they are separate and different organizations.

By Bhusaya dasaThirty years ago, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada requested us to purchase the Fisher Mansion as the new home for Sri Sri Radha Kunjabihari and the Detroit Hare Krishna movement. The media loved the Ford-Reuther connection, and Srila Prabhupada gave Detroit His blessings.

By Caitanya Bhagavat dasIn India, the rule of propaganda is a simple one: Whoever has the loudest speaker gets heard. Volume equals truth. “The truth,” therefore, is whatever information you repeatedly hear the loudest. However, the danger of speaking loudly is that you might not be speaking rightly.

By Krishna Dharma dasMy view is that ISKCON is an educational institution. Indeed, in the seven purposes which Srila Prabhupada set down in 1966 when forming ISKCON's first constitution, the first purpose is "To systematically propagate spiritual knowledge to society at large and to educate all people in the techniques of spiritual life…"

By Visakha Priya dasiYour appeal raises a very deep philosophical question, which threatens the very existence of the Brahma-Madhva-Gaudiya sampradaya, because the first child abuser in the creation is none other than the head of our sampradaya, Lord Brahma.

By Gupta dasSupport for this revolutionary legal approach which, in effect, invited claims against ISKCON was the direct result of a worldwide consensus of ISKCON membership, and may accurately be viewed as an unequivocal expression in loving support of all of those children who suffered simply unimaginable abuse.

By Praghosa dasaAs we know the GBC body is not infallible, just in case anyone is thinking like that! This is one of the reasons why Srila Prabhupada created a body of devotees, as opposed to installing one individual to run ISKCON. It is also of course the example that Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Maharaja set. The clear advantage of having a body of devotees making decisions is that on balance their collective decision making will be more often right than wrong.

By Deena Bandhu dasaEven in temple and other religious gatherings I have seldom seen the type of welcome we received. Sri Dangi himself entered our names and particulars in the register, a formality that we always have to do before entering any jail. They have these huge wooden doors and inside is like a vestibule with offices on either side and then another set of huge wooden doors.
