By Narada Priya devi dasiThe question about whether women should become initiating spiritual masters or not has been raised. Some speculate about what to call her-- "Maharani", instead of "Maharaja"? "Jaya Guru devi", instead of "Jaya Gurudeva"? Hearing all this, I am thinking, "Why change anything? Didn't Srila Prabhupada say not to introduce anything 'new'? Prabhupada didn't make women sannyasis while on the planet, so why should he favor female diksha guruship?"

By Shraddha- devi DasiThe Remington Company started as a firm that manufactured rifles. It took them almost half a century to add a book-related item to their product catalog, when in 1873 they added the Remington typewriter! Who hasn’t heard of the Remington Typewriters, and who hasn’t heard of the winding Remington Road, Sunnyvale, in sunny California?

Devotees often quote a lecture by Srila Prabhupada where he said that even if they were seventy percent surrendered; Krsna will still take them back to Godhead. During this lecture, Srila Prabhupada was speaking on how one has to be one hundred percent surrendered. At the end of the class, he noticed the devotee’s disappointment that they will not be able to make the standard

A devotee friend asked me recently about the rationale behind creating a strategic plan for a spiritual organization. He understood the need for strategic planning in the corporate world where you have to anticipate market changes and consumer interests, but he suspected its relevance to our confederation of devotees who, after all, are ultimately interested in transcendence. Doesn't it go against the spontaneous nature of performing devotional service and spoil the devotees' spirit a little if everything has to be so mapped out?

By Nimai Charan AgarwalMagic… a word that has many contexts, meanings, and connotations. In America’s early childhood, it was used in the same line as darkness, evil, the Devil’s newfangled shiny red horn, the dark arcane arts that brought the practitioners to the stake. Over time, the meaning changed, but the core sense of mystery remained...until every storyteller found the treasure in the word and its essence was ground to Tartarus

By Mayapur.tvThe dīna-nāthas, or devotees of Lord Kṛṣṇa, who preach the path of devotional service, become the favorites of the demigods. Generally people are interested in worshiping the demigods, especially Lord Śiva, in order to obtain material benefits, but a pure devotee, who engages in preaching the principles of devotional service, as prescribed in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, does not need to separately worship the demigods; the demigods are automatically pleased with him and offer all the blessings within their capacity
