This above is Janma – here is Her Story – we published this a few weeks ago in our weekly, Gita Nagari Farm’s newsletter:
From Dhruva’s Desk I have to share something with all of you – One mysterious incident occurred on Janmasthami.
Mother Kalki came to Parijata and said, “By the way, the Donkey and one black cow are outside their pasture and roaming on our driveway”.
Parijata replied, “Oh – Bala has free reign, but the cow, she ought to be in her paddock”.
So Parijata went to put our roaming cow back in her safe paddock, all the while thinking that it must be Premanajana or Purnamasi, the 2 most mischievous and escape artist cows. As she drove past the white barn, around the corner near a fresh hay bale, there was Bala and the black cow, merrily munching on the hay.
The only difference was that the black cow was not one of ours! She was a chunky beef cow – young, perhaps about 2 years old. She was startled on seeing Parijata and froze, and so did Parijata I am told.
After a few seconds, during which Parijata chanted the full mahamantra to her, she ran off into the back field. Parijata then got me from the Temple and we fenced her in.
We then called our Vet who gave us contact details of neighboring farms – we called around – nobody has claimed her. We also logged a called with the Sheriff’s Office and there has been no claims from there either. So Radha Damodara has brought this soul to our community – we named her Janma and let’s hope that she is here to stay. She is healthy and poses no risk to our existing herds. There are many theories on her appearance: she escaped from a farm – cows are known to travel miles; she escaped from a trailer; who knows?
Only Janma and Radha Damodara know – Janma is integrating with the Retired herd, settling in – still very shy – but she is very beautiful and we are happy to protect and serve her.
