Ahimsa milk…(duud) for those who are Indian in origin…. Is non-violently hand harvested milk, from cows that are allowed to live peacefully their whole lives, raise their children peacefully, and give their milk lovingly, with no fear of being harmed.
Just as when mother prepares nice prasad for her family…the taste of her love is in that meal. There is a special flavor when devotion and love are mixed with it.
Likewise, when prasad is prepared without the ingredients of love and devotion it is perceptible by is ordinariness. There is an invisible ingredient, which is love and devotion that is perceivable by its presence or absence. When someone cooks nice prasad and does it with love for the devotees, and offers that prasad to Krsna nicely, there is a special quality which is perceivable….and when Krsna feels that love and devotion, he leaves the special flavor of His person in that prasad…. (but that’s another story). CC.
These special animals, when treated with love and respect, because they are our mothers…through their love they create special flavors in their milk…there is no comparison to milk produced by others…you can taste the ordinariness, and even inauspiciousness in such milk from the store. That milk is produced by cows in a factory full of anxiety…they know their destiny if their milk production goes to low.
Our cows fall asleep standing up when they are being hand milked and sung to. They are at peace, they feel the auspiciousness of their life, being surrounded by loving caretakers. Their milk and all the products thereof derived, carry the message of their reciprocation. A special taste that only real mothers can provide.
As we at Murari’s Kirtan Valley proceed down this path of mutual heart opening with these hooved wonders, we an only imagine how future generations of hooved wonders will respond and what their milk might taste like. Waiting in the wings are our only 3 births thus far at Murari….Radha, Lalita, and Vishaka…(pictured above), with names like that and with the love they are already receiving, the quality and taste of their milk should be nothing less than celestial.
I firmly believe that giving love to the cows and having loud congregational kirtan will bring about the true beginnings of Varnasrama. Intelectualizing on it will get nowhere…. Huge sums of money spent will not do it either….The beginning of varnashram has nothing to do with money…it must start inside…in the village, and work its way out to the world. Money and clarity and charity are just the by products of following Sri Guru… No confusion here, and no arguments…. The next installment will be about varnashrama…. This one is just about the duud.
Thanks as usual…. I have unlimited words… and limited time….so please listen…yours in Prabhupada, always on call… Gadi das murarisevaka.com

so sweet… in the background you can see the fence Bhakta James built for the calves… all with Murari’s own wood!
