By Sri Nanda - nandana DasaSome authors point out that Madero died with his copy of Bhagavad-gita under his arm. Madero, being more of an ideologist, tried to act with justice and democracy for everybody, which was seen as weakness. He was too far ahead of his times.

By Caru dasRavana was not âevilâ. He was just ignorant: ignorant of God, of spiritual life, spiritual values, spiritual power, spiritual joys. Because he was indifferent to the cultivation of spiritual knowledge and practice, he became, by default, polluted with the three enemies of the soul: lust (kama), anger (krodha), and greed (lobha).

By a DasaIt must be reiterated here that devotees of Krishna are more concerned with the soul than with the body, and while embracing Ayurvedic principles for bodily care, they look to the Bhagavad-gita and the Srimad Bhagavatam â and to the teachings of Rupa Goswami -- for spiritual advancement and guidance in life.

By Indradyumna SwamiAlthough Tamala Krsna Maharaja once told me not to attribute bad health solely to the karma of my disciples, I couldn't ignore Srila Prabhupada's statement in Perfect Questions, Perfect Answers, that a spiritual master takes on the burden of the sinful activities of his disciples.

By Samba dasCould we have made the mistake of adopting âpreventive systemsâ? Has the institution tried to take on a role that is assumed by the Supreme Lord Himself? ISKCONâs policy of guru approval (official or not) may be a case in point. By assuming the right to approve gurus, we may have become an âintruderâ in a transcendental process.

By Chayadevi Devi DasiVraja was their lead cow. He was like their father or grandfather. Since they were babies, he was the big protector and decided where the herd would go and who could do what. When anyone would come into the field, Vraja would approach first and analyze whether they were friend or foe.

By Tamohara dasaYour string of assets, lined up like so many zeros, need that special One in front to make them really valuable. But this science of putting Krsna in the front is unknown to you. Thinking oneself the controller and enjoyer, one's senses alert for any opportunity for enjoyment, one makes great advancement towards repeated births and deaths.

By Caru DasAfter about a half hour talk there were a number of excellent questions. By their questions the students showed how well they had grasped the concepts in the Gita, and were working out in their minds the sequences. During dinner I circulated around to all the tables, and fielded at least another three or four good questions from each.

By Payonidhi dasToday is such a sad day to remember as Srila Prabhupada disappeared from our external vision, one of the things that mitigates separation from Srila Prabhupada is reading his letters. I recall in Vrindavan every day devotees put a letter on Srila Prabhupadas desk, and devotees after mongal artik would come to Srila Prabhupadas house and pay obaisences and chant there, it is such beautiful rooms.

By CHANDRIMA S. BHATTA-CHARYAA man of God is in town to challenge Darwin. Researcher Michael A. Cremo, like many of Darwinâs critics, doesnât believe that man descended from monkeys. But unlike most of them, he turns Darwinian theory on its head, using the Vedas, believe him or not. âWe havenât evolved from monkeys. We have devolved from pure consciousness,â he says.

By Tejagaurangi Devi DasiNow I have 170 names, and every year I go to visit at least 50 of them. Every year the month of January is dedicated to follow-up. After the Christmas marathon I relax for one week and then I start to prepare follow-up, making the phone calls to the busiest ones. Then I start to prepare all the sweets. My wife is helping me with that.

By Payonidhi dasWith great concern I have been informed that some temples do not follow the calculated times of fasting in their time zone and this may well cause many persons to fast on dasami instead of ekadasi, some devotees follow the Mayapure calendar still, but this may be many hours ahead like here in US and cause one to start fasting on Dasami.
