By Goloka-ranjana DasaAmong scholars, the position of women in the Vedic culture is a cause for controversy and debate because of different, sometimes contradictory statements found in Vedic literature. Sages have their own opinions and often contradict other sages. Thus the only path to the truth is the path traversed by great authorities. That is why we would like to analyze through the teachings of Srila Prabhupada and our previous acaryas some of the different quotes and arguments presented in the paper "Some...

By Madhava Smullen“Sankara was easy to do service with; having an insightful and creative nature,” says Rupa Dasi, who worked with her on a sewing project. “She had a keen sense of focus for the project and really put all her heart into the service. She also was always very concerned for the welfare of her children. And this was a frequent topic of her talks. She knew her time was limited, and she was determined to use it to the very best advantage she possibly could on their behalf.”

By Chaitanya Kishore DasTo disregard religious practices and rituals as foolish and primitive is a great disservice to the society. Some people who are firm in their faith will disregard these statements in the movie as irrelevant since they know the truth, some people who are atheist and don’t care for religion at all, will take this as an assertion to their beliefs, but many of the people who are innocent will have many questions and these movies will add to their confusion.

By Jaya Sada Gosai DasaFor only the second time in History, the people of Adelaide were treated to the spiritual delight that is Jagannath Ratha Yatra. The festival was staged as part of the annual Australia Day celebrations in the CBD. Nominally, the Ratha was a float in a long parade. But, in truth, the Lord of the Universe had simply found another way to distribute His incomparable mercy. The parade as a whole turned out to be diverse, colourful and loud!

By ISKCON Ministry for SannyasaIt is ever so important to practice what we preach. It is important not to get too immersed in corporate approaches in our preaching work and preaching ventures; the greatest preaching is a 'one on one' personal care amidst the festival and communication venues. Never forget how to place ourselves into the shoes of the people that we connect with, in order to make sense.

By Chaitanya Charan dasHis love for us is not based on who we are – how virtuous we are, how inclined we are towards him or what we have done for him. Even if we have done nothing for him, even if we are not in the least inclined towards him, even if we are stooped in sin, he still loves us.

By Ravindra Svarupa dasaI liked it when Srila Prabhupada described Krsna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, because I had many prejudicial ideas associated with the word God. But I quickly realized that "Supreme Personality of Godhead" is a very precise term. "Godhead" traditionally is a term for the Absolute Truth, and Srila Prabhupada says "Personality of Godhead" to denote that the Absolute Truth has a personal feature.
