Hare Krishna dear Prabhus, Please accept our humble dandavats. Jai Srila Prabhupad.
Today there was an inauguration ceremony of new premises of my daughter’s school. The first lady, Mrs. Abe (wife of Prime Minister of Japan) was the chief guest.
It is generally difficult to have close audience of VVIPs.
So, we were praying hard that we can gift Japanese “Bhagavad Gita As It Is” to her.
Mrs. Abe arrived. There were few speeches and cultural programs. Good compact program. Then it was announced that she will leave for other commitments. She got up to leave and everyone clapped. I told my wife to rush to offer her the valuable gift. She, being a lady music teacher in the school, it was not out-of-place for her to offer the gift and usually she is bolder than me. Since all were making way for the Mrs. Abe to leave, my wife could easily approach her through the vacant passage behind. By Srila Prabhupad’s mercy, Mrs. Abe smilingly accepted the bag with Bhagavad Gita and said “Arigato” (“Thank You” in Japanese). Things happened so fast that we could not take the photo although we were prepared.
VVIPs must be getting many gifts and not sure whether they will have time to ever open it. But we thought that it would be important to use this opportunity provided by Krishna to do our bit. Rest leave it to the Supreme Lord.

Dear Prabhuji,
Please accept my humble obeisances at your holy feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada, Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga.
You were thoughtful to give the BG as it is, at the right time. As you say they rarely even have time to even keep track of what they receive. If something attractive definitely they will not forget. Its upto the Lord reveal Himself to her or not.
All glories to you for the book is received by the first lady.
Your Servant,
Ramnath Lakshman
