Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
Shyamasundara and Sundari Radhika prabhus have asked me to post an update on their progress since their accident. Shyama apologizes for not being able to answer all the inquiries sent to him, its still difficult for him to type with both arms broken!
Both of them are making gradual progress, and the bones are gradually healing according to the natural progression. Shyama was able to get out of bed for the first time in five weeks a few days ago, with the aid of a body brace. The first attempt was difficult. After five weeks on his back he became dizzy and nauseous on the first couple of attempts at sitting up. With some patience he was eventually successful and he was able to travel to the hospital for X-rays to check on his healing. At this point in time things are going according to expectations and the doctors are satisfied. The broken bones should be healed within another two months.
Shyama had his head shaved two days ago and discovered a six inch scar across his head caused by the crash; this is apart from the wounds that were stitched up.
Sundari Radhika had some mild infection in the wounds where the pins that hold the halo onto her skull enter into her head, but this has been treated with no complications.
They would both like to thank all the devotees for their on-going support and prayers. They both feel that the well-wishes of so many devotees has been and is the major factor in their gradual recovery.
