By Payonidhi dasIn these verses it is assured that even if a person engaged in devotional service falls down, he is not degraded, but is placed in a position in which he will in due course of time remember the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

By Ameyatma dasI was impressed by what I saw. The Amish live totally in the open, mixing freely with the 'English' (as they call us), and yet they preserve their very old and different lifestyles. Whole families were there in the Wal-Mart, young children, teenagers.

By Kavicandra SwamiWhile most devotees seemed to be relishing being in the holy dhama and hearing about the Lord's pastimes, I was having a difficult time. I found it very difficult not be disturbed by the degraded condition of most of Vraja.

By Indradyumna SwamiWhen I was young, my mother would often speak of her Britannic forebears. "Your grandmother was from Wales," she told me on many occasions. But what she liked best was the Irish part. "Your grandfather was an Irishman from Cork," she would say proudly

By Romapada SwamiI know the issue of institutionalized sexism is not new to ISKCON, but this is the first time I have noticed the implication of the language found in verses directly referring to spiritual archetypes. Do you have any suggestions as to how I may properly understand the nature of the language in these verses for myself and for the sake of explaining it to others as transcendental literature that informs a transcendental culture?

By Radha Mohan DasaPerhaps in the near future we will never know for sure, but it is logical to suggest that at some time in the future we will. If the truth is indeed different to how NASA has been portraying it, ISKCON is in a primal position to say “I told you so!”

By Madhava - nanda DasWhen Priyavrata’s father, Svayambhuva Manu, requested him to accept the responsibility of ruling over the world, he did not welcome the suggestion. This is the symptom of a great, liberated devotee. Even though engaged in worldly affairs, he does not take pleasure in them, but remains always absorbed in the Lord’s service.

Q&A by Romapada SwamiI live in a devotee community and often feel that I don’t know how to associate with others. I love them and try to serve them but all too often I just don’t feel emotionally safe in their association. I don’t feel free to be open in case they hurt me and thus I am wasting my life constantly holding back (defending like a kicked dog).

By Radha Mohan DasaI therefore suggest that devotees keep an open mind to the type of opportunities that may be available in the future, for an insular and inflexible outlook could prevent devotees from having a role in many areas of society where Srila Prabhupada’s teachings is most needed.

By Gaurav MittalFour years ago, I got fortune to have a beautiful daughter. This gave me responsibility to raise my daughter and forced me to decide value system in which she should be raised. Islamic followers can convince women to wear veil all the time when they are outside. That means that I can mould my daughters thoughts in a way that I want to a high degree.

By KrishnaKirti DasThe film Water ends by blaming Manu's laws for the condition of India's widows. At its conclusion, the film shows a frame with only this caption: There are over 34 million widows in India according to the 2001 Census. Many continue to live in conditions of social, economic and cultural deprivation as prescribed 2000 years ago by the Sacred Texts of Manu

By Indradyumna SwamiNow that Lord Gaura has descended to this world, the waves of the holy names of Lord Krsna are suddenly flooding this planet, and the hearts of the sinful conditioned souls, which were as hard as thunderbolts, have now become as soft as butter. Let me take shelter of that Lord Gaura.

By Gaurav MittalMy humble obeisances to all the devotees who always remember Krishna and never forget Him. My humble obeisances to all the devotees who are honestly trying to follow this principle without pretension. We should be clear what should be the goal. Our goal is to always remember Krishna and BG 9.30 verse talks about such persons who have achieved such goal.

By Madhava - nanda DasIn March 2004, many people had gathered at the ancient Shiva temple known as Kapileshwar Mahadeva in the Old Town area of Bhubaneswar to observe the 22-year-old tradition of hearing a nine-day recitation of Srimad Bhagavatam. Just as the recitation was about to begin, a large bull entered the compound and sat down next to the devotees.

By Radha Mohan DasaKrishna Consciousness is not a small or irrelevant entity, something people can easily drift in and out of and then forget altogether. It seems to have had a marked or profound effect on virtually every member and former member. Today there is a wide range of devotees who have an interesting variety of relationships and perspectives on the movement.

By Bhakta NileshI am wondering why many of ISKCON's leaders play various types of ball games when Srila Prabhupada stated that playing ball games is a violation of the fourth regulative principle, no gambling and no sports. I cannot understand what is the future of ISKCON if it's own leaders are regularly violating this regulative principle. Kindly shed some light on this for me.

By Gaurav MittalMy humble request to leaders of Iskcon is to not encourage pretension. Srila Prabhupada was completely against pretension and also, such pretension will take pretender away from Krishna. One should never encourage hiding truth. It is geat disservice if leaders set such example or try to show that Srila Prabhupada encouraged false pretension.

By Praghosa Das (ACBSP) NYC - Not the Editor of Dandavats Srila Prabhupada did his best to ensure that the authority of International Society for Krsna Consciousness would not be jeapordized by the temporary slip ups of his disciples. That is sure. But Lord Krsna has guided us as to how we should look upon anyone of us who has slipped from the standard but shows just as much desire and determination to resume our efforts to become fully pleasing to the Lord by simply doing exactly as Srila Prabhupada has asked us to do in all ways.
